Hi guys, I lost the cord for my camera and can't post any pictures of the new budgie, Pedro (if you laugh..well..lol go ahead and laugh, the name just stuck with him) but on to my actual question : When is it okay to let a new budgie out with the other one? Like for play time? after the 30 day quaranteen, or for a little while every day? And what if they attack each other, or bite each other or something? What would I do then?

Well if Petro seems alright before 30 days, then you may introduce them gradually.

After the quarantine period, you can introduce them just as Amy said....gradually. You will want to supervise them at all times in the beginning until you are sure they are compatible. If they do not appear to be getting along, you will simply need to keep them in their separate cages.

Well, signs of compatibility would be preening each other, cohabiting without nipping at each other, being playful with and exploring each other, happy chirping.......

If your budgies are incompatible, one will usually try to dominate the other. They will often nip, squawk, chase.....the other budgie into submission. If you see any of those signs, I would recommend keeping them separate and maybe only bring them out together while they are supervised so that you can intervene if necessary.

Okay, thank you! Brandi and I had Pedro and Lizzie out together, and lizzie just kept preening and chirping happily to Pedro..I have a picture here..

Bad choice. I wouldn't of put them together. you can't alway trust the seller as they may do anything to sell a bird. Im happy there getting along and all. But i just want to know if you go to a pet store and they sell you a sick bird and they know it can you actuly get the law involved. Now that i've seen anything like this cause everwere i go the people know so much about there birds and rabbit and stuff so much thats its hard not to trust them..

I also think it was a really bad choice to introduce them. I see no reason to put both budgies in danger of getting sick just because the lady at the pet store said she was healthy, she's not exactly going to say otherwise if she wants to sell any budgies.

It's cute I like your new budgie but you should always wait the 30 day period...hope it's a healthy budgie.

Pedro is healthy. I don't think there has been anycase of a sick bird being sold at the pet store where he was bought from.

Hold on a minute, Pedro IS quaranteened at my house, he was only out with Lizzie cause I was at Brandi's house for the night when I bought Pedro that day. Pedro is at home now, and I had full intentions of quaranteening him when I got home. There was no where else to put Pedro's cage except in Brandi's room with Lizzie, cause she has dogs and stuff. Pedro's in my room and Petri is down in the living room, they switch rooms every so often *I mean I move their cages* so that Pedro can get used to the noise of the house. Petri and Pedro haven't even met yet.
