Greengrass, my budgie, can't fly. She stopped flying a while ago, her left wing is slightly bent inward.

xXx :budgie: ;)
Maybe you should get that wing checked out by an vet.
Your budgie could have been deformed by inbreeding or injured,I dont think injured though because if green grass is eating, drinking and has a proper bowl movement then He is alright. My best guess is that he is deformed.Could you post a picture of his wing.Yes I do have a budgie that cant fly but he flew into a window last year and he dint break his wing he hit the window with his head!He is brain dameged in the laft side and forgot how to fly because of it.His left side is actually paralized. He also cannot see through his left eye.Post a picture of his wing bottom, side, top, and under and I could tell you more.Im pretty good I have had lizards with broken legs and a guineapig with a broken toe.I will help you!:)

How old is your little sweetie? Is it possible she may have suffered a stroke? That can lead to paralysis on one or both sides of a budgie's body. I hope she is okay.
To be on the cautious side, I would recommend taking her to an avian vet to have her checked out. If you are not sure where to find one in your area, you can look on this site and search for one:

Good luck and please let us know how she is doing. :p
Jiblet never used to fly. Whenever we took him and Budgie out of the cage, Budgie would try to fly (their wings were clipped). Jiblet wouldn't though. I take him out of his cage, put him on the other side of the room, and instead of flying back to the cage, he'd just run back. It was pretty funny to watch. He did know how to fly, because during the very early days he'd try to fly when we took him out. Later on he didn't though.
Well Lilly and sonic can't fly cause there wings are clipped. Were letting them grow but i know that can fly. Lilly is a poor flyer though. She had her wings clipped at a too early of a age and it messed her up. Im hoping i can give her a hand by letting her wings grow and let sonic show her flying is fun.

Why did she stop flying?
Did she fly into a window?
Does she have both her wings clipped or just one and who did them?
It is possible the person that clipped the wing has damaged her wing. Was it done by a reputable person like an Avian Vet and was it done while she was a young bird and her breast muscles weren't developed properly
If it was done while she was young this will impede her ability to fly..
Does she flap her wings really fast while in her cage as this is a way of developing muscle in preparation to fly.
I had three budgies that would not fly they walked everywhere but that was because they were spoilt. They had a ladder to climb up to get into their cage and they also climbed down it. They did this from the time they fledged from the nest but eventually the learnt to fly at about 5 mths of age.

Really? Billy has just done that. Is he wanting to fly?

The story of Toby
I recently took in a special cobalt blue English budgie a breeder didn't want because he couldn't fly. I was there to choose a couple English budgies for pets (they were so hard to find!). I was upset that he tossed the bird into the air to show him land on his tummy on the ground. Of course I grabbed him & took him home! I call him Toby. What I think is that there is some sort of paralysis due to inbreeding, but I plan to take him to the vet for a look-see. It's even on both sides, and he does not have a head tilt. The breeder told me that it was genetic. None of my other budgies pick on him either, and he now has a companion - a big grey English I call Bentley. All my 18 budgies are out all day, and Toby also comes out. He has a great time even with his handicap, finding his way to the eats on the cage top. He can get back & forth between two cage tops because they're close together, but sometimes he goes on his own adventure. It's odd, because he thumps to the ground onto his tummy and flops along to a small cage I have there for him that I call his "safe place", where he can go inside, rest & eat. The whole family heeds the alert "Careful, Toby's out!", until he's safely at his cage. Later, he makes his way out and sits on the cage door, waiting for me to scoop him back up to be put back on the main cage. I always have a tremendous soft spot for the special ones! I once had a super one-legged fellow named Eddie with personality plus, still living I believe, that I adopted out to a wonderful lady.

I think it means bad breeding.

Inbreeding is two closely related beings producing offspring.
Lovethosebudgies that is a beautiful story, thank you for sharing it with everyone. :)
