Hello everyone!! :wave:

Wow! Another excellent week this week! I know the judges had a difficult time choosing a person to eliminate. Here is the Week 2 results video: YouTube - Talk Budgies Next Top Model Season 5 - Week 2 results show!

Well, I guess I shall introduce our three amazing judges again! They volunteered to do the difficult task of judging and eliminating, and that's what makes them amazing! So, here they are:

And, if one of these judges cannot judge for a week, we will have Dave as a guest judge! :eek:

Let's have another refresher of the rules. :)

Rules:

Each new challenge will be posted early Sunday morning in the Western Hemisphere. For those in the Eastern Hemisphere, you will likely see the new thread Sunday midday or Sunday night. Contestants will have four (4) days to enter a photo. So, the deadline for entering a photo for the challenges will be Wednesday night at 9pm EST (people in different time zones will have to figure out what time that is in your time zone, you can use this site (http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html) to convert the time to your time zone. ;)).

Then, the judges will deliberate for the rest of the week (Thursday Friday Saturday) and the results and new challenges will be posted the following Sunday.

The DIVA card: So basically, if your Budgie is not co-operating with you for the challenge and you don't know what to do, you can use your DIVA card. This season's DIVA card has not been chosen yet, so it will be announced on the day of the first challenge.

Rules for the DIVA card:
It can only be used ONCE during the entire competition so use it only when you really have to!

The DIVA card can be used for any round except the final.
So, the DIVA card for this season will be:

Also, please try to enter a recent picture, preferably one that has been taken during this competition, for this competition. ;)

Soooooo, I guess that leaves me to the next task of announcing the next challenge!! :eek:

We're going to step it up a little bit, so our next challenge is going to be:


Sports Bird!!

Examples of this challenge could be your bird playing their favourite sport, or watching and cheering on their favourite team, etc. Be creative for this one! :D

This one may be a little more difficult than previous challenges this season. You will likely need a fair amount of props and LOTS of interaction for this one. Those two factors could make or break your entry. Remember that you still have the DIVA card to use too! ;)

The deadline will be Wednesday, March 9th, 2011 at 9pm EST!! :eek:

Its okay guys! we almost didn't even make the last challenge and it was the easiest one, that was a 5 minute setup :giggle:

If we made it through this week we were gonna step out of the competition, so not sad to go at all. Many reasons, Mango wasn't into it like Kenji was, so hard to introduce a setup for him. We had no time, so many things going on right now, may be getting a job soon, got chicks hatching, might me moving soon, maybe even go back to school :eek:

Should have thought it out first and not even enter, so sorry I guess I could have left the opportunity to someone else that had the time for the contest :o

Try the Dollar Store for props. That's where I went when Gracie-Mae was competing. Just wash it all well of course. So what's it gonna be, hockey, baseball, basketball, figure skating heehee, the possibilities are endless !

This one is pretty hard. I came up with something today but it was really pathetic looking and Diego didn't want to cooperate...:rolleyes: It's going to be harder to get a shot during the school days. We may just have to use the Diva card if I can't come up with something...even though I really want to save it. :D

I have a little bit of bad news. Unfortunately, Chibi Chibi and Stacey have dropped out. Sad to see you go!

However, I have contacted a member who has been playing along in the Play along thread to see if they would like to join the competition. I am giving her until tomorrow evening to get back to me. If she gets back to me before then and accepts, the photo she used in the play along thread will be included in the actual challenge. So I will keep everyone updated!

Coacoa was the same way, i was complaining about it to Stacey earlier.. I made such a cute set and he did not get anywhere near it, he's scared of everything.. Had to end up doing whatever i could on his cage for him to get anywhere near the props but he refused to touch it :(

i had a full size kids baseball glove holding a baseball we got from a MLB game ontop of the cage but she was deathly afraid of that lol which doesnt surprise me, its bigger than her! these were easter eggs i used and i tried putting noodles inside cuz she luvs noodles but she only got that far up to it and ran away LOL

oh yeah and shes having her first molt with me so u can see little feathers on her belly that are white coming in lol ive been keeping some of her feathers for keepsakes :D so cute!

I loved seeing your play along pictures and now girl , shoot for top 3 !


Chibi-Chibi loved doing the shoots, but I work 8 hour shifts everyday and never seem to get sun-wed. off and by the time I got home pretty boy was sleepy and cranky. I enjoyed the time while it lasted, even if it was short.

Time to sit back and watch these awsome models from the side lines , best of luck to all!
