No interest in cuttlebone?

I was just wondering............do all your birds attack their cuttlebone???Casey and Gizmo haven't even touched theirs. Casey is fine with picking a thread from her clothy perch and Gizmo is content just watching.
I have such boring and quiet birds.We've had them for over a month now,shouldn't they get a bit more lively??

It took Drake about 3 months to use his cuttle bone, so you could wait.
If they still have no interest in it after a while you could scrape some off and sprinkle in their food for calcium, but encourage them to use it since it also keeps their beak trimmed. :)

Ricky is the only one that I've seen picking on the cuttlebone and it took him a LONG time to be interested in it. When they need it I think they go after it.

Jake and Elwood aren't very interested in cuttlebone, its always there for them and occasionally they have a peck at it (when they think i'm not looking).

Elwood didn't look at it for the first few months i had him :rolleyes:

Some new ones i've had wont go near it the whole time they are quarantined. They go to the aviary and budgie see, budgie do, they are on it like flies on.... well budgie poo hehehe

Sugar pecked at it when I first got him and hasn't touched it again in 5 months.

Rutabaga loves his cuttlebone. Cornbread wont touch.

Shiloh is the only one who likes to nibble on the cuttlebone and mineral stone. I never usually see Grace do it, so I sprinkle some on their foods, just to be safe.

As for your budgies being boring, you can always try to liven them up with new toys and treats and keep changing around their cage, so they are always curious. Put on some music for them during the day and make sure you spend time with them.
