I didnt write in here when my baby Bella died because i thought it would make me even sadder, but today i just started crying and needed to tell someone who understands why it hurts so much, i lost her only about a month after i got her for my birthday, when i was sleeping she sat on my head and crawled into my hood of my jacket and i think she suffocated and couldnt get out, it devastated me and still does, i should have put her back in her cage, but i thought i would just have a little nap, i feel so hurt and hate the fact that i cant have her back, i really wish i could, i just dont know how to deal with the loss of her because i truly loved her more than any pet i ever had and i dont think anyone in my family really understands, i have two new budgies now that i love, but they are so in love with each other that i dont feel the love that Bella used to make me feel, Genevieve xx

I am very sorry about Bella. For some people, it is hard to express their feelings when they lose a loved one. So often they keep their feelings inside when they should be letting them out. I'm glad that you were finally able to share your pain. It's the beginning of the road to recovery.
I know that Bella's death was a tragic thing, but please don't blame yourself. You were just having snuggles with her and the unexpected happened. It was totally innocent and who would have thought something like this would take place?
Maybe since you have 2 other Budgies that draw near to each other, you can get another Budgie to pay attention to only you. She just might be another Bella in a lot of the same ways.
Try and have a great day!

You can get your two budgies to become just as close to you as Bella was. I've got two budgies who are also in love with each other and don't pay much attention to me. So I tried a tip someone here gave (can't remember who). Take one budgie at a time into another room where they can't see or hear each other. You can then begin training them individually. We've made a lot of progress this way with our budgies. It should work for you and then you'll have two birds who love each other but will also be very close to you.
Good luck.

When my Moses died in December, my friend said "these things happen". My argument was WHY DO THESE THINGS HAPPEN!! Why should something so unjust, and unplanned and downright unfair happen? She said the same reason babies are stillborn, teenagers die in road accidents, houses burn down etc. That's just life and you have to just get on with it. Even though I didn't like that advice much, I think now she was right. You just have to keep going and stop asking why. When my Moses was killed by the dog, my husband said "why did you agree to look after that dog" and I said "well why did you let Moses out of his cage when I wasn't here". You can go on forever down that road but you've just got to stop, it's not healthy. Get another budgie if you want, or just enjoy seeing the ones you have be so much in love. Either way, guilt and condemnation doesn't work. I'll be thinking about you. :budgie:

Thats so sad. It must be horrible to think back on, and thats why I say live in the future. Train your new budgies to be like Bella :)
