LOL! i know its a weird question... but I seriously think they smell specifically like creamed corn!!! hahaha! my friend who lived in an apartment below me when i got trisket came upstairs with her dinner in hand and i could smell it from her plate and all of the sudden I was like "OMG! Thats why she smalls so familiar! creamed corn!" my friend said "great, my food smells like bird" and couldn't eat her dinner after that lol

i'm weird, i know :p

What an interesting question. I know for sure after they have eaten brocolli, they have brocolli breath and that is what I lovingly call them my "Brocolli Breath Budgies." Or for short BBB. ;)

if they smell funky (not sweet in some way) when wet then i'd make a point to take him in the shower with you every other day or so, he probably isn't bathing himself enough. some need us to force it on them, silly birds :p

I don't think the funny smell when wet has anything to do with frequency of baths. :) It's just like wet dogs get wet dog smell, really wet budgies get a similar smell. :P

I cook my own dog food, and make it with mince, rice, vegies and garlic (keeps fleas away!) and Bobby loves it :) He always eats from the spoon after I feed them!! So often he has garlic breath  but normally he just smells lovely! I can't describe it but I love it! :) I often bury my nose in his feathers and sniff deeply!!! (Not a good idea when he is moulting!!!)

It sounds like we have a lot of budgie sniffers here! I admit that I too sniff them on occasion. It is an indescribably sweet smell.....:p

it could just be mine, but trisket and keico smell fantasicly clean and sweet even when wet, but dewey (who I just got from a home where she was never bathed and is now stained brownish where it should be white, poor thing) smells yucky when wet :P but i take mine in the shower every other day or so for a full soaking and plus they have abird bath in their cage at all times, so mine are crazy squeaky clean :) lol
