Hey guys, I've decided i'll build trust, tame, train, and bond with my parakeets starting tomorrow!

For now, I need some heads up on if this is good progress with trust and bonding:

They preen in front of me, eat in front of me(only the millet though, not their normal food,funny thing is they put millet in their food bowl :p)they sleep in front of me, when I put my hand above or near them outside of the cage they don't flinch or anything, when I put my hand in the cage to change something they don't flinch or freak out, they just inch away. When they look at me they don't show discomfort, I talk with them a lot, and keep an eye on them a lot. Is this good progress for trust and bonding?

Keep up the good work. Have you read all the items in the Sticky section on the Training and bonding forum? You're doing fine.

p.s. I see you changed her name to Penny after all.

I have read the stickies, and yes, her name is Penny now, short for Penelope. Glad to hear i'm doing good, but I gotta sleep now. My budgies are also sleepy. I will start with opening and closing the cage tomorrow!

EDIT: Petey and Penny are now exploring their cage, dropping from the perches to explore the bottom, eating, drinking, playing, and gnawing on the cuttlebone. Is this a good day to start training since they are settled in a litte?

Ok, started opening the cage for about 10-15 minutes, and I don't think Petey will be cooperative since he's sleeping.

Alright, the 12 ish minutes are up, and the budgies didnt seem to freak out a lot. They simply stared down at it, looked at me, stared down at it, and went back to their normal antics. Cute. :)
