I just joined this site. My name is Lindsey, I'm 13, and I(my mom kinda lol, I'll explain) have one parakeet. Its not a Budgie though. I couldn't find a good parakeet forum so I settled for budgie lol! We got my mom a parakeet for christmas because he last parakeet, Peety, died at 14 years old... Might have been 13 or 12.. Somewhere in that range lol! But she has had parakeetes before that and this is the only one that she hasn't taught to: talk, be friendly, give kisses, and land on the table during dinner. 0.o;; lol. So I kind of took over responsability of 'training' him. He responds to me better than everyone else. :D I handle him all the time although I don't think he will be able to talk b/c he is about one year old and doesn't know how to say anything. My mom's last parakeet know how to say 'Here kitty kitty', 'Hey there', 'Mommy' and 'Ooo lovely' lol. He was sweet. But he was old and died of natural causes. =/ He was blue, I don't remember a lot about him since he died when I was 11. Our new parakeet Gordey is green and has a yellow face. He loves having conversations with his mirrors! :p I'll post a pic in a second once I upload it. Hes molting right now I think and doesn't look his best so I'll post an older pic lol! :budgie:

I think that is a budgie...budgies and parakeets are the same thing, I think ^^ He's pretty though! ^^ Welcome!

that is a budgie lol. Like Freya said a parakeet is budgie. Well its a small bird with a long tail.

Oh.. I thought budgies could be parakeets but parakeets couldn't be budgies.. The store said it was a parakeet. =P And he doesn't really look like a budgy to me lol.. I dunno. I'll get a better pic of him but it'll be not pretty, hes molting. x)
