my both last budgie are killed by my cat.But its not their fault.its no one actually.it is meant to be.i dont want to explain how happen.it makes me sober....i am now birdless......

I am very sorry about the tragic accident and loss of your Budgie. Having other pets (like cats and dogs) can be dangerous when kept near our Budgies. I keep my Budgies upstairs away from our dog. If I didn't, mine would probably be dead, too.

Even though some people completely trust their other pets to be near their Budgies, I think they should still take precautions. We may think we know our pets - but they aren't always predictable, and they could easily surprise us.

I hope it will work out for you to someday have another Budgie. Please know that I am sorry for your loss. :(

i'm so sorry to hear this!! :( my first budgie was killed by my cat whitin 3 hours, because she got in the room by herself :eek: it's hard to lose an animal that way, but we must stay strong!!

Dear Pippin, I know just how you feel. My darling budgie who was 3 was killed by a visiting dog on 27 Dec. The dog was only here for five days, we were minding her while her owners were on holidays. I had to be very gracious and not get angry at this dear old dog. She was 12 and was recovering from cancer, of course she had no experience with birds. It is very, very hard but you're taking the right attitude. Hate/thoughts of revenge etc don't help one tiny bit. I'm sure your budgie knew you loved them and wouldn't blame you. I had to go ahead and get a new budgie, his name is Joshua and he looks JUST like Moses, same colour purple. Only he's not Moses, different personality, even though he's from the same breeder. Take it one day at a time and if you get a new bird, you know now to keep the cat a long way away from him.

while i was a child, my mom took in quite a few budgies & we had a dog that would either get along with or tolerate the birds.
it's a difficult judgement call, and i'm so sorry it went bad for you & your birds & cat.
about 15 years ago, i moved in with a friend with a cat. i had 2 budgies.
i lost my sweet Snowball because she found a way to escape from the cage :(
i remember it like it was yesterday.
losing a loved one that way is so very hard to deal with.
