Colours

Now that the first egg has arrived, I'm excited at the prospects of what colours I may get in the clutch.:o

Anyone guess what colours *may* result in this mating? I have attached a pic of Crackers (male) and Tweetie (female). I just hope they come through ok.

The first pics a little hard to see, but you can tell that he is a dilute grey maybe?!

The second pic is still a little blury, but you can make out that she's a normal grey

Probably normal greys, but I don't know what the genetic patterns they may hold, but not show, so It's kind of tough.

Thanks for that - we shall see...would like to get some blues - as greys come from the blues, I though "maybe" but waiting to see LOL

I also have another 2 girls, one is a yellow-faced blue and the other is an albino. Just wondering if I put Crackers with them (when they are old enough, as they are both too young to breed), what colours may result? I'd like to also get a yellow male (preferably not a lutino).

Well, since none of your budgies seem to have the yellow recessive gene in them (the albino would be creamino, and your male doesn't seem it) you'd probably would get no "yellows"

Do you mean a a lutino with bars? If so, that's a lacewing. Doubt you'd get any of them!

With the blue female, you'd get her color, unless she has a recessive gene in her!

Didn't mean to get a yellow out of this clutch - I was meaning to add to my flock LOL.

Was maybe hoping for some 'blues' out of this clutch.

Well, you MIGHT get a blue, you just have to hope that he has a blue gene in him ;)

Its always so much easier when you have the budgies parents genetics aswell :P BirdieBabi got it all down though!
