When at a younger age (6 week to 6 months) it becomes harder to judge and it takes a trained eye to pick up the slight differences. The things to look for are a pinky/purple colour with young males and a blue cere with slight white rings around the nostrils for females. This is where many go wrong for we associate pink for girls and blue for boys.

its most definatley a girl! the pale bue with white rings thing is very much true whether you guys believe us or not lol... but no matter what you believe, I strongly suggest getting a male. if you get a male your safe either way, but if you get a female and you have a female, she could kill it or be killed! females are the aggressors in the bird world and two girls who didn't grow up together are a bad idea unless in a very large space with other budgies around...

I am 99% sure it's a female, unless your avatar photo has been SERIOUSLY changed by the flash but a males cere will never have white on it, it will always be pink or deep blue. :)
