I feed my birds fruit almost everyday, sometimes i leave it for the day, but i've noticed that they don't really like fruit, they never pay much interest, and its quite annoying. Do any of you have any solutions of what i can do so that they eat more than just seed?

Veggies are better then fruit- mine only eat apples. My tiel might eat grapes or other fruits IF I AM EATING IT ONLY but not the budgies. What I do is keep a bag of frozen mixed veggies and take some out when I'm ready. Lay them on the plate-microwave for 5secs or let defrost to room temp and then add anything else I might have...pieces of apple, fresh parley..etc..Now...How I got them to try it is to take the plate up to them and sprinkle millet spray on it in front of them..They will try it if they like millet and eventually get a taste of the veggies. BE PERSISTENT AND CHANGE IT UP once in a while..It's worth it. PATIENCE.:)

I know it's annoying at first .....but since they have no choice but to be "pets" we are fully responsible for what happens and that includes what they eat and how they feel. They are smarter then we think just on a different level. ;) Good luck!

When you do this is it in their cage or out of it?

I saw on another thread to try brocoli and mix with millet seeds. I bet if you used just the seedy part of the brocoli in with millet they just might eat it. I am gonna try that!

I think Pippin is eating his broccoli! I put it on a dish with a few seeds and he goes down and eats! It appears that when he is doen the broccoli is eaten as well as the seeds!
