This is my Kiki. I am not sure yet whether she is a boy or girl but for the timebeing I am calling her a girl. Some of her pictures make her cere look bluish so I think she may end up being a boy! Either way she is great! I have had her for about two months now but when I took her to the vet he said she was only about 2 months old, so I am guessing she is 3 months considering she was fully feathered when I brought her home. She loves to sit on her rope perch and nip at her favorite toy (I do not even know how to describe the toy because it is so busy) and sing to herself while she does it. We are still in the taming process but I was finally able to move her into the living room for more interaction.

Cute bird! He/she sounds like a playful bird. I guess that's how young budgies are because our Vegas is very playful.

Im sort of having the same problem. Lily is albino so she has a white cere! I wonder if there is any way to tell? Im 80% sure shes a girl though, Billy treats her like one! Im trying to breed them, so only time will tell! She has been inside the nesting box, not for long though! Lily and billy regurgatate to each other alot.

She can bite hard. I have just been trying to get her out every day and be nice to her. Eventually she should warm up. She is not completely tame yet.

Your Kiki is so beautiful! I love the colouring of the feathers!

I can certainly identify with you when it comes to not knowing whether your budgie is a girl or a boy. When I first got Skyla, we couldn't tell; her cere was whitish with a tiny bit of pale blue. In fact, her name was Skye at first because I thought it sounded like it could be a boy's or girl's name. Once we knew she was a she, we changed her name slightly to Skyla.

Good luck with your new addition! Kiki looks like a real gem!

Kansas bit me once. She bites really hard. On the other hand, my old budgie Budgie would bit if you stuck your finger in between the bars of the cage, that's how aggressive she was. But her bit didn't hurt at all. In fact, she'd bite your finger for a few seconds, and if you didn't move your finger she'd back off because she knew her bite didn't work.
