Her beak/cere look extremely healthy! :D She's in breeding condition at the moment which is why here cere is a bit raised an bumpy like that. If she had mites she would look like: Warning-may upset some people (http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a12/bea_p/ScalyFace002.jpg). This is a severe case. This is her a month after a single treatment of Ivermectin prescribed by the vet:

She came to me with slight scaley face and i didn't recognise it. Then it got worse and i had a hard time convincing dad to take her to the vet. I always feel bad for her but at least she got well (and i've gotten much more stubborn about getting budgie to the vet early). Tell tale signs of scaley face mite are the honey comb appearance to the cere/around the cere and also what appears to be little mite tunnels running along the beak.

I had two budgies with mites and boy, was that ever a chore to deal with! We had to disinfect everything! Mites take on a honey comb shaped appearance and looks crusty. In the early stages, you will often see a crusty growth in the corner of your budgies beak. It gradually spreads if not treated.

Here is Skyla with her mite infestation:

Thanks a lot Crystal Dawn. I am lucky to have her. I can only imagine where she would be if someone else had adopted her. She has been through a lot, and mites was the least of her issues considering she had her wing amputated as many of the members here already know. Let's just hope she stays healthy for many years to come!

I hope your little sweetie doesn't have mites!! However, at least it is a very treatable condition and not that expensive to treat either. :p
