:budge:Taming/Bonding Day 1!
Since day one my little friends Snowflake & Sunshine. I decided to try and start bonding/taming them before I go to take them out of the cage after the week is up which will be next Tuesday. What I've been doing is when there on a purple perch I'd pet there tummy if one is facing me if the other isnt facing me I do manage to scritch the neck.
Now today what I did was try to use the Milit technique with them. Course Sunshine was very iffy about it but, Snowflake accepted the Milit with no problem. Took Sunny a while before she started to nibble on it. I wanted to see how they reacted if I shortened it which I did course they backed away for a bit.
Looks like I won't be truly shortening it any time soon till they are more comphertable. I've adeded 3 pics of what I have of my 2 so far.

(No, in this picture they are not mating I touched Sunshines tail and accidently spooked them making her move a bit and Snowflake moved and placed his foot there. Of course after that I'm going to leave them alone for a while before trying to bond/gain trust with them agian. tonight)
DAY ONE UPDATE:
Snowflake made a MAJIOR improvement though I don't expect it to happen agian till he's fully ready. For about 5 seconds or so Snowflake ended up jumping onto my hand with-OUT me saying step up he sat there on it as if it were a perch while the MILIT was in that hand so technically he sat there for the 5 seconds that he stayed there for. Sunshine does tend to be iffy with the milit but snowflake gets that it's there. When it's not in my hand sunshine doees eat the milit.
Plus, they are also eating out of their own food dish. I haven't seen them go after the water yet so I took the lid off so they know it's there.
I have only been giving them the food they were fed in the store, today I decided to also add a little bit of vegi's in. I added some milit in too to help the taste. Soon as I added the vegi in the food bowl Snowflake ended up going over and started eating. Now, when I go to change their food tomorrow I'll see if the carrots were eaten. Since I only put a tiny bit of tomato in it mostly the insides.
I also took out my male tiel so that he know's he isn't neglected. I held him on my shoulder and faced my keets and had him facing the keets to show that I wasn't going to hurt them and shown them what all I was going to be teaching them. Though, with my tiel I don't know if what I did will help my taming progress any, of course I gave my tiel kisses as well.
Least it's good to have more than one bird to help new birds least ones that aren't tame for the ones that you just get but the ones that are it's good to use as demonstration in my opinion.

Taming/bonding Day2!
Today I plan on giving them a day break from my hand being in the cage and me touching them I am not wishing to push them of course i'll do so for 2 days but, once each time I will give 1 day break. Which is good I think. I don't want to presure them too much. I am glad I am doing this approach because I do not want to spook or scare them to much.

Yes, that Is true, as I said I am going to be taking a small break today from there taming. Fiving them a little breather, can't always pressure the little chikitas. Though, I am trying to teach them a little something doupt they'll get it they're prolly tired at the moment ready for bed. I am trying to teach them how to say Weee.

:budge:Everything is going quite well and yes, they do look cuddly. Today they got there first spray bath. While momma's waiting for the birdy bath tub that she bought from pet co on the 1st of september for both types of birds.
I used my tiels once agian for some demonstration for later. I'm going to try a shorter peice while holding it in my hand seeing if they'll take it directly from my fingers. If they don't I'll go back to the long milit method. They do seem to be learning quickly. They didn't react to opening there wings to the spray bath just yet but, all 4 of my birds got a bath.
I also noticed when I changed there food this morning that most of there carrots were gone. I added a little bit of tomato insides of course they seemed to have eaten those I will probably use my purple dish to use for there little extra foods.
I tried to give them some more milit today they took it gingerly. I shortened it sunshine flew up to the purple dish and snowflake was iffy about it for a bit but he ended up taking it agian. The hand taming is going well. Course we do have more milit around the house when the one they give ya when you get your bird finishes.:budge:

Today my budgies get to start a book of course momma is picking it out. I'm going to try a new method gonna take break a while with out my hand being in the cage for a bit. Since momma has a bunch of books chapter books of course some she hasn't even read yet.
She's read her warrior series. (course I still have some books I still need to get out of the new set.) she's got all of the series of unfortunet events and twilight. She has inkheart(which I haven't fully read yet as well as eracon and a few other books i havent read yet), Ishe's got holes, harry potter ect.
So, mom decided to start us off with one of her chapter books. Though, she took a long time to deside which one. She finally decided to read us her warrior books which of course is about cats.
Yes, I do have almost the whole series on that. I have a ton of books. I wasn't gonna start them off with a stephen king book just yet. As I Said before I'm gonna take a break from using the milit method and just read to them for a while.

Today we read a little bit of chapter three of the book that we are reading together. They were of course treated well. Still working on our bonding skills so I moved them right next to my computer chair so that they can have a better view of momma.

We finished the 3rd chapter of Into the Wild. They were rewarded with treats after a click to teach them. I shortened a bit on the treat with snowflake he didn't seem scared of it since myfingers were little closer. Of course I don't know how long I'm going to do so I had to get them new millit cause the one they were working on didn't have much seads left on it.

Today the hand taming is going great, I tried a stubble of milit and they took it with out fear. I'm gonna make it a little harder for them in just a few seconds I'm gonna have y hand just sitting near them in the cage. I had my finger resitng on the pink perch before. Of course Snowflake know's the word now he did try to nip nip momma but, he didn't really nip me he was curious on what it was.

Today I decided to try and see if they'd take some food out of my hand instead of using the millet method this time. Of course they did take it from me. They put one foot on each a few times.
Course I do read and talk to them still

Step ups are going ok of course, They still are a bit afraid of my hand but only mildy afraid. With snow I can at least get one foot on before he moves away from it. Sun however doesn't sem a bit interested yet.
