Budgies cant digest dairy so milk is a no-no. Budgies have a thing about drinking when people are watching. I've had Ozzie about 2 months and i only saw him drink for the first time yesterday. As long as you are providing water he's probably drinking. :) As budgies in the wild live in dry areas they can actually go for quite long periods of time without drinking anyway.

Here is a very good site about what NOT to give to your birds

In the wild budgies get a lot of their fluid intake from Eucalyptus leaves as it is very dry in Australia.
Budgies loves to bath in gum leaves very early in the mornings when the dew is on the leaves this helps keep their feathers clean as well

As Bea says milk is definately out.budgies dont drink an awful lot of water,im sure battery has probably drunk when you was not watching ! just make sure fresh water is always available.

Also, what type of water dish do you have? If you have one of those tube waterers that poke through the bars then you should probably also offer a regular food/water dish (with no 'poop guard'/lid, if the budgie were to get stuck in there they could drown) because he may not be used to the tube style drinkers. :)

I have numerous types of drinkers, but I would say that the tube ones are better, cleaner and safer.

They are but it does take a while for most budgies to learn to use them!

For Billy and Lily it only took a few hours! (They have tube feeders as well.)

I hear that those tube feeders get stuck with seed and can leave your budgie thirsty....so becareful.
