Why does Lizzie do this?

Whether i just walk in the room where she is, or i am talking to her, or i am hanging on her, why does she fluff up and look really bulky?

Is she sick?Because when budgies are sick or any bird they fluff up thier feathers you should make sure she is not sick,but she could just be preening her feathres is she?Could you post a picture on this thread so I can take a look at her?

I think its normal, Brandi ^^ Mine does it too, and then he'll go back to looking pretty :P ^^ I think they're just trying to fix their feathers ^^ I call him fatty when he does that :P

When budgies fluff up like that, they usually do it for one of a couple of reasons:

1. they are relieving stress
2. they are shaking dust off their feathers
3. they are shaking their feathers back into place

If your budgie stays fluffed up (which it doesn't sound like that is the case with yours), then it is quite possible your sweetie is sick.

To me, she sounds completely normal. :p

When I go into my budgy's cage he fluffs up then takes a poo before getting onto my finger lol.

Aww! I love when my birds do that! Just after I spray them with a water bottle/thingy they do that. heh, my favorite thing about budgies is when they fluff up and smooch each other! Hah, sweet little things. :makeout: :lovers: :love2:
