I've officially discovered the worst way to be woken up at 5:30am! This morning i was woken up by three tiels thrashing madly around their 3 separate cages. Turn the light on and they thrashed harder. Lifted the covers up a little to see if anyone was hurt and to start calming them down and they thrashed around even harder. Mickey was jumping around trying to figuire out what was happening and making things worse so he got kicked out of the room. Finally they all *start* to slow down. Cookie suffered the worst damage losing all 3 flight feathers that had grown in as well as 3 clipped feathers, the tail feather that was growing in and a flight feather that was growing in (both blood feathers, lucky they came out complete and there was very little blood). Banjo snapped a flight feather (not blood) which was his only one on that wing and Bailee somehow got through with no damage at all. They all came out one at a time and sat with me on my bed and received lots of kisses and cuddles and of course head scratches. Once they were all calm enough to be still i popped them away but didn't cover them properly. It was just beginning to get light out but i also left the bathroom light on and my bedroom door open so they could see a bit. I'm seriously going to have to invest in a nightlight for them!

I hope they are all fine. I know how scary it is to wake up to your birds having a night, not the greatest thing in the world.

Oh that's so sad! And scary! I'm glad that it wasn't as bad as it could have been. Is everyone okay & calm now?

Oh boy. That sounded like one horrible night fright Bea. When one bird starts, they all seem to start; chain reaction galore! I'm glad things seem to be okay for them. Hopefully the night light will help. ;)

It doesn't happen too often, i think Cookie's had 3 and Bailee's had 2 now. The most important thing you can do when it happens is to stay calm so you don't freak the birds out more. They get real sooky and cuddle up to you afterwards. :P That's the nice part.
