Taming Scout

I knew this would be pretty easy since the day I brought Scout home - chirping and eating the first day, and was wary, but not afraid of my hand when I changed his food and water or hung up his toys and fruit kebob.

Today I tried to get him to step up for the first time. I thought that he'd start flying around and get frightened once my hand actually came towards him, but my heart started leaping around when he didn't, and he actually let my finger touch against his belly. He was a little nervous, but stayed put while I pushed gently and asked him to hop up.
He put one foot up and kept the other firmly on his perch. I repeated this about 3 times, each time he would only give me one foot. So I praised him and told him how gorgeous and brave he is and gave him a nice big piece of millet. :)

Today I successfully got Scout to step up - 3 times! :D
He will give me both feet now, if I ask enough. I'm thinking he might be doing it just to get me to shut up, LOL.
He looked a little nervous when he was on my finger, and would not let me move him anywhere, but when I stayed put and talked nicely he calmed down.
When I put him down, he went straight to eating. :) he's doing well!

Just over a week after he came home, he is doing really well.
He will step up almost on command, and yesterday I left the cage door open while I sat there talking to him.
He sat in front of it and looked out (I could just see him trying to get up the courage :D) but it was not the day to leave his safety zone. :) everyday he gets better!
