Okay. My bird has a biting problem, and he bites hard what can I do to make him stop biting me every time to go to get him out of his cage or anything? I've had him on my shoulder and he bites my shirt and hair too..O.o I get kinda scared that he's gunna bite my ear or my lips though..-_-

I didn't yell at it, I yelled at you. and he has a blue cere..thingy- so I should think so? Maybe? Does the picture look like blue? Maybe I'm colour blind o.O

the cere looks blue but it also looks like there is white circles around the nostrils which may indicate a female !

i read somewhere that to stop them from biting, right when u buy them from the pet store u should just hold them in your hand for at least 30 mins. And it will learn to bite softly.

also you could put him in a room pick him up, release him , pick him and repeat over and over again. He will see that you are not trying to hurt him.

this is something i read, i never tried it out, my budgie doesn't bite (except for once, when i was picking her up, but now she knows i wont hurt her) :)

I don't like the catch and release method cause it can also make your budgie terrified of being grabbed.

Well I dont know if its a male or not but females just bite harder. The way I trained my budgie its alot easier if the wings are clipped.Just hold him and keep on holding him until he gets used to you.My budgie did and he was 2 years old when I got him from a breeder,he dosent jump on my finger when i put it in the cage but he dosent bite now. There is not much I can tell you budgies dont bite that hard!Just take a few nips!Cockatiels are worse.

I've always felt that females tend to have sharper beaks and harder bites than males, but maybe that's just me!

They ARE evil! The meanies are money sucking peices of CRAP.
I'll post more pictures so then maybe I can get more opinions on Petri's sex^^ Does that sound like a good idea?

Budgies depend so much on your care Freya. They don't know any better, and if you are being negative around them, they will pick up on that. I encourage you to be patient with the little sweeties.

Its really easy just be careful I was scared to at first. If you accidentally make a mistake and cut the blood vessel than put some flour on it and apply pressure it will stop, its kind of hard to cut the vien though I swear its easy!

*panic* wait wait, that 'peice of -poo- comment wasn't meant for a budgie! ^^ It was meant for the evil Vetrinarians who live in town, who don't have an avian vet, who keep telling us to get the dogs in for more shots than they need..o.O
and I'm too a-fear-ed to do wing clipping by myself! *nerves*
