Did you get its wings clipped or not?
I didn't. Just wondering what people did ^^ Just curious
I can't quite remember, but I think we got them both clipped. I do remember that we used to get both their wings clipped regularly back then. Not anymore though.

No, I didn't. I thought I'd let them use there wings like they do in the wild.
I didn't even know that you could! I wish I did...

When I purchased my budgies their wings were already clipped. That is the only time they ever have been.

i got my baby's wings clinpped at first i didn't want to buti do not regret it they said that he will easier to tame !!

I'm going to clip Billy and Lily after they've bred and the babies when they're adults.
Don't wait till they're adults, just until they've learnt to fly and built up some breast muscle. I feel that to clip an adult budgie is worse than clipping a baby because they've been able to fly for so long, and believe me, budgies LOVE flying, Blinkie loves zipping around.
Gus has a clipped wing, I bought him that way. He is super tame though and i will probably let his feathers grow back so he can fly. he just jumps off things and plummets to the ground, I don't think he is going to learn that he can't fly so i think it will be safer for him. I don't want an injured budgie.
Is there any way you can get the other wing clipped to even him up a bit? Having just one wing clipped isn't good for him, it would be like trying to row a boat with only one oar, difficult! :p
Would they go around in circles with just 1 clipped wing?

Do owners clip their wings or do the vet?

I don't clip wings. Several reasons. First, all my birds are breeders and outside in large aviaries. I want them to fly and get good exercise. Secondly, should a bird escape, I want it to be able to fly. At least, that way, they can protect themselves from cats and dogs by flying away. (I've had a few get out, over the years, and have had some return.)
My pet Quaker has clipped wings. I can't wait for her to moult so she'll get her flights back. The lady who hand fed all my baby Quakers clipped Yma's feathers and the poor thing wants to fly so badly. Of course, I'll have to cover mirrors and close curtains when she does start flying......
