I only just started to introduce friuts and veggies to my birds. At first they didn't seem to be interested in the stuff, but as time went on curiosity over came fear. With every bird it is different when one goes the rest follow. Try mixing seeds into the fruit and veggie mix. Some fruits and veggies my birds enjoy are:
Carrot
Broccoli
Apples
I haven't really tried anything else, but I plan on doing so.

I have only tried one vegetable for my budgie. That's lettuce. I just slip a piece of lettuce between the bars. When I come home from school, I can tell he's been nibbling on it. However the first time I gave him lettuce, he didn't touch it. A good idea would be to not watch your bird eat, to make them less scared.

Getting budgies to eat their veggies and fruits are quite a hassle sometimes. It can take a while for your budgies to even test it out.
There are several ways that you can introduce your budgies to veggies and fruits. Be sure to introduce more veggies than fruits since fruits have a higher sugar content and can be realized as treats.
You can always try to let them see you taste the veggies. As they watch you, nibble on the veggie and make the yummy, mmm sounds. That just might entice them to try it out.
Another way is to sprinkle some of their favorite treats on top of the veggies. As they pick through their treat, they may accidentally taste the veggies and become a liking to it.
You can start out with lettuce. Lettuce is not recommended to give to your budgies since it has no nutritional value but does not cause any harm if given in rarity. But budgies love lettuce and the darker the lettuce, the better. This way, after he has been familiarized with lettuce, he will start to try other veggies that are green.
Some budgies are picky eaters and only eat some things the way they like it prepared. While some may like steamed broccolis, some may like it raw. Some like mashed carrots, while other likes it in sticks. You can experiment with your budgies on what type they most prefer.
It is a good technique to leave veggies in their cages during the day and seed at night. Budgies are very curious and will try just about anything, once they know it won't harm them.
My budgies favorite veggies are watercress, broccoli, carrots, peas and celery. They also enjoy their strawberries, apples and bananas when they get them.
Veggies should be a staple part of their diet and fruits can be given once in a while.
Once your budgies start eating their veggies, you will notice a slight change in their droppings to be more watery. This is normal, for veggies have high content in water. However, if their droppings become very watery, all the time for a long time, you may want to visit a vet.
Good luck and hope your budgies eat their vegetables soon :)

with all of my newbies (i've had a few lo) i take grated carrots, shredded lettuce and corn, sometimes i add seed depending on how stuborn they are too. I give this to them daily. usually within a week they have tried it, and by 2 weeks eating it well. It does seem harder with one bird, so sometimes adding a mirror by the food helps their curiosity. good luck and be persistant.

Budgies are very stubborn, I hide the good stuff in between their other food so mine will eat it. I only have 1 Budgie, that's Moody, who tries everything I give him. The others refuse with a passion.

I also heard of some owners sprouting bird seed and feeding it to their birds. Would this be good too?
