Treco (:budgie: male) and Kika (lime-ish hen) recently had babies... What colour do you think they will be?

I've noticed that in the back and head of one of the oldest babies are growing white feather-like thingies... and on the other one there are white thingies on his back and black on his head and neck...

Here are some pics of the dad, mom and babies:

They will either be a normal green, since that is the dominant colour

or just a mix of the two colors if they are both dominant.

The white feather like thingies might just be their downy feathers.

They are so adorable, can't wait to see what they turn out to be.

 ADORABLE!

As of the color, I'm not sure. Sorry. Probably the color of your male.

But, breeding isn't my forte. :D

Out of 5 chicks my pair had, two look very much like the father and three do not.
Look at these threads to see pictures of the chicks and parents.

pictures of the parents are lower down in the next thread

So as you can see, you could be real surprises.
And none of them look like mom.

I actually never thought they would ever hatch since the hen is just 10months old and it was Treco's... first time... I read in several places that sometimes the eggs aren't fertilized when the hen is young and the male doesn't have any experience... Treco rocks, no?

The cock is a normal light green, which is a dominant color.

The hen is a yellow (light green yellow -a dilute/a recessive color) opaline spangle.

Spangle is a dominant mutation.

You will get light greens and light green spangles, some of these chicks will also be opalines. Unless the cock is split for yellow, you will not get any yellow chicks. However, the chicks can be split for yellow. Only test breeding them to a visual yellow will you be certain if they truly are split yellow.
