So got peet two weeks ago yesterday (11th of april) he was very shy nervous and skittish when we brought him home from the petshop, you couldn't even get less than a foot away from his cage without him flying from side to side freaking, when he'd stop he'd be panting, it was upsetting, he was 12 weeks old. Now today 12th april he's 14 weeks, slowly started by changing his feed and water, then putting new toys in and moving some around, he was terrified of your finger so used a pencil (our magic pencil) he started by twiddling with the rubber, then started stroking his chest using the rubber end, touching his abdomen between his feet and chest, then started using the up word and he'd put one foot on the pencil, then got it to two feet, he'd sit there for a few seconds then step off. One day last week he flew out the cage while it was open, had a mad dash round the house then found a nice spot to land, so used the pencil to carry him back to his cage where he sat chirping away then hopped off into the cage by himself, he started letting me stoke his chest and even stepped on to my hand on his own merrit. so thought well considering he was very very nervous when we brought him home hadn't done too badly! well better than I ever imagined if I'm honest! so today thought I'd say hello quite close to his cage, I was very surprised when he tried to give me kisses through the bars!! :D. so thought I'd open the door and hold it so it was like a platform and see if he wanted to come say hi, and hey presto within minutes on he hopped!! I puckered up and said kisses and he planted a smacker on my lips!!! so made a make **** door string so he had a sturdy platform to sit on, he's been kissing me and charlotte my daughter and even reaches forward for it, twiddling our hair, tasting our nose, just lapping up all the attention he can get, so we thought ok lets treat him so had food in our hands and he was happily taking the food and enjoying it, at one point he brought some back up! not sure if thats good?!!! he isn't nervous at all, even wanting the attention, not taking off and flying around the room, he doesn't even want to go explore! he likes picking at your tongue, and getting up real close and just looking at your, he keeps giving little chirpy chattering and fluffing up, hoping this all fantastic progressm not forcing him or pushing him, its all on his terms! really thought all this would take weeks/months. I'm not counting all my chicks yet, know that they can easily pull back as they have come this far so taking every day as it comes, but man am I excited :jumping: got some fab pictures of him so will be posting some in my album later. will keep updating on progress. :budge:
