Birdie passed away............

Last night was his last night with us and he spendt it in our bedroom.he was very quiet and I covered him up and he stayed covered.This am I went to check on him and he had passed away sometime during the night without so much as a peep.
For those of you not familiar with Biridie's history,he came to us in June and was a very special and lively and easily trainable bird.He got sick in November and I had him at the vet 3 times for the same illness and spoke with the vet on the phone on numerous occasions.
It is such a shame that he died so young. I have to accept the fact that he was of poor genetics and that's what caused him to leave us so soon. I tried my best to \\dp everything right by him.Thank you all for your support during this heart breaking time.My oldest daughter asked about him this am and I told her he was stilling sleeping b/c I didn't want hern to go to school all day.My hubby will be buring Birdie under a special bush my dad gave me(he has passed too).
We still have Casey and Gizmo to comfort us.thank goodness for that.Once again,thank you all.It's just so hard...:crying2:

Yes she went to school.We'll tell her when she gets home.She was really attached to Birdie.Almost as much as me.:) She has a really big heart for an 8year old.She will cry,but then slowly get over it.I just hope that's the way it will go.

RIP Birdie.. I am so sad right now, he was sick almost the same period with my Sakis (1st of November had the first symptoms) but Sakis died earlier..

be at peace with the fact that you made his last days very comfy, and he died knowing he was loved.

I am so sorry this had to happen :( I was actually having some high hopes for him ever since I saw your other posts of you thinking he may not make it overnight.

I'm sure that he is peaceful and suffering no more. He was a very good budgie and he will be truly missed.

I am very sorry about your loss. Birdie was special and I know that the time you had her was not easy. You had a lot of stressful days and you did everything you could to make her life better. Just knowing that should make you feel a little better about things.

It's hard when we can see a death coming, but it still doesn't make it any easier to accept, when the day finally arrives. I think it's almost worse when we walk into a room to find our loved one gone. It's a visual thing that sticks with us for a very long time. Please know that my heart goes out to you and your family. I am especially hurting as you tell your daughter about Birdie. Children seem to take things very hard, yet they have this way of bouncing back - almost quicker than we do.

Thanks for letting us know about Birdie. We want to help you any way we can.

Also, I think it's wonderful that you are burying Birdie under the bush that your Dad gave you. It's like a memory bush in honor of your Dad and Birdie. What a sweet idea.

Oh sweety! I am so sorry to hear about Birdie. He was really having a rough time over the last little while. Just know that you did everything you could for this little sweety and he just couldn't fight any longer. He was truly a special little guy who was well loved by you and your family. At least he is at peace now and is flying high with all of the other little precious sweeties who we have all lost. My thoughts are with you.

Poor darling Birdie. Oh how I can empathise with your heartbreak! You are very considerate of your children's feelings, so I can see what a great mother you are. Around here, it's not my boys that take things really hard, it's ME! It is my ten year old putting his arm around me, comforting me when I howl and sob. I am so so sorry for your loss. RIP darling Birdie.
