Well, Since my mom said I have to pay for the parrot (which is $500-600) and she'll pay for the rest (cage, food, ect.) I have been saving my money recently!
This is my chart
12/31/06 - $20 (I spend my money easily!)
1/3/06 - $34.47
1/6/06 - $134.48 (My friend gave me 1 hundred dollars, late Christmas pressie, and I found a penny that day!!)
1/8/06 - $155.84
And this all didn't take very long to get!!
I don't know how I do it, but I get money very easily! lol. I can't wait until I get enough money to get the parrot

With that much money in so little time, by the time you know it you have enough money to get your Meyers parrot. :)
Goodluck with the saving.
Best of luck with all that saving! Be sure to really know what you're getting into. Many large birds require a precise diet (some need a diet of fresh food only) and extensive training. Also, if they get sick it will be much, much more expensive than with the budgies. Just something to keep in mind while you're saving up.

Yeah i know. My mom is helping out (she had many parrots when she was younger, and when I was younger I grew up with a lot), because she really wants it too (but she has better things to spend 500 dollars on  ) And we already talked about it. I read all about them so far, and everything else. The vet checkups are about 100-120$, but my mom said it was ok. Plus, I'm getting a hand raised one. And my mom is making me save up to see how commited I am to it.
Don't worry I'm ready!

Goodluck!
Check around your house for any gift cards you dont need or want to use ask you mom to buy them off you! Thats how I get money when I need a little more. You raise money very quickly anyways though I dont know if I'd ever be able to raise that much!
