I think that the best place to put a cage is in a room with alot of traffic for socialization and up about eye level. If you put them too high I have read that they can start to feel dominant. I have Kiki in the living room hanging just a little bit above eye level but that is because the chain I got was way too long and I had to double it over because I had nothing strong enough to cut the chain. She loves it where she is!
I agree. Put the cage in a room where people are most of the time. If the room has windows, even better! You should also keep the cage in a corner or next to a wall, as this gives the budgies a sense of security, a little place they know they're safe.
I have Blinkie's cage at about chest height and he's very happy. In the busiest room is definitely best as it keeps your budgies mind stimulated by having people to watch. Never keep your budgie's cage in the kitchen or near strong scents (incense burners, scented candles, air freshners) as cooking smells and many other strong scents are very harmful and often fatal to budgies.

My cages are not toot high and are near the wall, and away from the window, well not too close to the window.xxx

I want to keep my cage in the living room but it is currentley in my bed room, the problem is that my cats roam the house, so I need my budgie in a room with the door closed... What should I do?
