It is a good idea to introduce your Heidi to water and baths.

Some budgies will be scared the first time around, or even a few times around. They may not want to bathe. But let them become comfortable with the water and let them know it does not hurt them.

You can try this by lightly misting your budgies with a water spray. Mist towards their backs and bellies. Do not aim at the face since the water may get into their eyes and nares.

Another way you can introduce water to your budgie is by putting in a peice of plastic toy, mirror, or even lettuce inside the bowl, anything that your budgie really like. This may entice them to jump on in. :)

If you try many times and Heidi seems to take no interest in bathing, you can do the misting as their baths. This is very effective and you don't have to force your budgie into a bowl.

Some budgies do not like baths at all, while others enjoy it very much.

If your Heidi do enjoy his bowl baths, make sure the water is around an inch high. Budgies do drown.

Good luck!

I don't think you need to dry your budgie. I heard that they should air-dry. That'a what mine always does.:)

A friend of mine used to have a budgie that would hop into a towel (after a bath) that my friend was holding. Then my friend would wrap her up and rock her to sleep. :P Isn't that so sweet? I doubt many budgies would do that, though, because most don't like to be wrapped in a towel.
