What is "donor Status" in our user CP?

Near the very bottom of the screen is a little button that says "Make a Donation"

Well I pay yearly. That doesn't include the cost of the forum software, which is $160 in itself. Plus, having about six or seven sites drives the cost up a bit as well. ;)

I pay for my sites yearly too but don't use this forum software since the licence can be pricey for me. :o It is probably for donations. Mind I don't know if it's linked to the donation link at the bottom. Well spotted though. :)
