"Create The TB Logo" Competition [Archive]

Hello everyone! :thumbsup:

Well, we're finally here! :D After a month and a half of competition, thousands of views and dozens of entries, we have reached the Final Round of voting to decide on the new logo to be featured on our brand new skin! :D

The logos with the most votes from each group in the last round which you all voted in, will go up against eachother where we will all vote on our favourite logo! :)

> Voting will go for 7 days
> Only one vote per member
> Everyone can vote, including staff

i voted. they all look great:). but i cant help but notic that two are almost identical... itll make the voting a bit off dont you think, because it will split the votes between those two when they are essentially voting for the same logo? if that makes sense?

Yeah, ı agree with "riotfox (fox)".Instead of taking two similar logos to the final round it would be better and more fair to take a different logo as the 4th one.By this way we could have given a chance to another logo maker.(ı do not mean myself whoever it is)

I support Ssuzyk's logo which I believe a chance to get voted for this wholesome unique logo of hers. Her votes was by a mere shortfall of 3 votes from 28 against 31 votes.

If the final logos are changed just because they're similar, then that isn't really fair on the people who made them. Just my opinion, anyway.
Caroline's logo's not showing up for me.

Edit: I can see it now.

We were debating this very issue, which is why the poll was delayed for a couple days. It was decided that each logo won their respective polls fairly, and since we didn't stipulate that multiple entries from the same person had to be completely unique, both were eligible to be in the finals.

Here's a tip: if you're having trouble choosing between the two, just vote for mine instead. :P

I'm sorry for making my logo's so similar - I just wanted you guys to have an option of it either saying ".. the ultimate budgie forum" or not. :o , I also didn't expect for 2/3 of my logos to get into the final round! :p

Aww thanks Roland!! I was a little sad to lose by such a close margin, but the competition really was tight! There were some great logos out there to choose from! This just makes me more motivated to enter all other TB design competitions ;)

Just one thing... if #1 or #3 win, can we fix the kerning (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kerning) between the "T" and the "a"? The current gap is a bit ugly.

I never noticed that, but I see it now that you mention it. Hopefully Caroline kept the psd file, since she's in the lead right now. ;)

I find it funny how one of her logos is in first place, and the other is in last place. That's pretty strange. :eek:

The logos on the current skins are staying the same. This contest is to pick the logo for the new skin that will be released shortly. :)

Good to see the voting going strong! :thumbsup: Quite a big lead here by Caroline, it seems that from the start, this was always one of our favourites :)

Remember, polls close on the 3rd of March I believe, so if you haven't voted yet, I don't know what you're waiting for! :p

If I may, I'd like to put in a plug for logo #4. I like how the highest point (the green budgie) is in the middle instead of off to one side. It looks more balanced.
But they are all great logos and I will be happy with whichever one wins. By the way, who are the budgie models? They are adorable.

They were contestants of a competition we held called "Talkbudgies next top model" The green budgie in the middle is Firecracker, he won the competition :) The other two are Chibi Chibi & Phoenix, they were the top 3 budgies in the competition.

you know how they have the different skins? (at the bottom of the page theres a dropdown menu to choose them) they are making a brand new one with the new logo

A skin, is basically a colour change of the forum :)

So right now, you are most probably on "Talk Budgies Version 1" or "Version 2". If you go all the way to the bottom of the page, you are able to change it to red, black and other colours, or "skins" as we call them ;)

Dave has made a new one for TB, so this competition was created so members could create-a-logo and the most popular will be used on the new skin :thumbsup:

Hope that makes sense :o
