I am proud to announce the latest addition to our family. He is a gorgeous male budgie whom my son named Milo. Milo is violet and he has convinced us he was an acrobat in his past life. He loves doing backflips all over his cage (not sure if this is normal behaviour yet) but we have fallen in love with him.
I am sure this forum is going to be very informative as this is the first family pet in New Zealand. We are from South Africa originally and have had german shepherds but this is the first time my boy and girl have their own pet. Already Milo has become the baby of the family and we look forward to many long years with our youngster.

Just remember if you treat him like a baby now he will expect and demand to be treated this way the rest of his life and may lead to feather plucking if he gets lonely..
..I should just say spend as much time now as you expect to be spending in the future with Milo!
