That you're confused about? That you are unsure of how to use? That you don't know why they're there? If there are any parts of the site you are unsure of, it would be appreciated if you would post them here. :)

I am embarrassed that I know so little about forums and computers, in general. But since you asked, here goes. I wish there was a "Talk Budgies For Dummies" that was easy to find , like maybe listed in the blue bar at the top that says Home, User CP, etc.You could have a section on vocabualry that explains what avatar, siggy, Karma etc. mean. Then you can explain how to use them. You could also explain what the icons mean in more detail than what pops up when you put the arrow on it. It took me awhile to realize the little scale is how you give Karma.
I have no idea how to start to make an avatar. Where do those little flags come from? I know you can use search for some of these things but when I typed in avatar there were so many threads that told me nothing I said "forget it." Dave you asked about features earlier and I mentioned Karma and you replied there was a Sticky explaining it. "Well, I thought, "What is a Sticky?" I did eventually find it but it would have been nice if all this stuff was explained in one place for "Dummies" like me.
I am not complaining, Dave. You do a great job but you did ask.

Don't worry, I like that idea. A list of common words and vocabulary used when talking about site-related features. I will keep this in mind.

Also, I am working on a type of Talk Budgies for Dummies section, which is why I'm asking this. I need ideas on what features need the most attention. :)

Not sure if I'm allowed to respond here, but I can help here. When you make a post, at the top right corner of the post are a few icons, click the balance beam and you can either "approve" or "disapprove" of the post. That is how you add to the person's karma. To check your own, click on your User CP at the top of the forum and scroll all the way down, you will see who gave you karma and what they have to say about your post.

They're basically Google, Yahoo, etc. searching the Internet and adding websites to their lists. That's why when you type in budgie forum into a search engine, we show up. Because the spiders/bots have visited our sites. (For those wondering, these are friendly bots...)

I don't understand why there is an archive.

When posts get very, very old they are moved into the archive like in real life with things. I do know if they are moved off the database but I think they are pruned and moved from their categories into one vault, the archives. :)

We created the archives forum because there was period when people were reviving very old threads for no reason, just to get their post counts up. For example, introduction threads that were half a year old were being revived just because people wanted to say hi. That's unnecessary. However, we haven't had the need to use it since because people have been doing this as much.

There is something that I don't quite understand.

In your CP (Control Panel?), you look all the way down and you see who've given you karma. Most have green lights, but some have blue. What does these colors mean?

I know the grey one is karma you have received but the person has no rep power, so you dont get a point etc, not sure what colour the negative karma is though, I have never had negative karma and am sure you will never get it either sweetie xxxx :)

Oh, I see now. Thank you Angie :)

Also, what you've written to me was the sweetest thing anyone has ever said to me. You have truly made my day to its best. And you must know that I feel the same. Thank you, Angie :) :)
