Have you ever found a particular post to be helpful, or a certain thread that caught your interest? If they're not stickied, it could be difficult to find that post/thread again when you want to re-read it. And even if it is stickied, you might forget which forum it was in.
To make things easier, a new feature has been added: favorites. You can now add a single post or an entire thread to your favorites.
How do I add to my favorites?
To add a post to your favorites, find the "Add Post to Favorites" link at the top of the post (above the username and avatar).
To add a thread to your favorites, go into the Thread Tools menu at the top of the thread (directly above the first post of the thread), and then click on the "Add Thread to Favorites" link.
To see your favorites, or to remove favorites, go to your User CP. They should appear above your Karma comments.
What's the advantage over subscribing?
Well lets say you have your subscription option set to receive daily digests of updates, but you don't want to receive updates of a certain favorited thread/post. This will allow you to bookmark a thread/post without subscribing to it! So you won't receive e-mails just because you added a thread/post to your favorites. :thumbsup:
In addition, this feature allows you to favorite a single post so you can have easy access to it without subscribing to an entire thread. Why subscribe to a long thread if there's only one post that interests you?
