Spike is home!!:D He's so adorable! He'll sit there and whistle at you, I got him to step up a few times within his cage.
Now for the part that breaks my heart:
He's been passed through a few families that couldn't take care of him, so he's never had a forever home. His cage, isn't even big enough for a budgie. The previous owner said he just sits and chats to his mirror all day.:( His food bowels are disgusting, only 2 perches, one covered in poop and the other a chewed up rope perch. His door is a sliding door, and I doubt he can even fit through it, its so tiny. They never took him out. He is on an all seed diet, poor guy.:(
I'll definitely be buying him a new cage and stuff ASAP! & I'll be sure to spoil him rotten:p I'm just so glad I was able to find him.
& I'll get piccies soon!

Aww congratulations on Spike :)
Sounds like he had a rough life in the past :( It's horrible to do that to such an innocent and beautiful creature. He's very fortunate to have you as his owner and hopefully, he will stay with you his entire life :)
Congrats again! Can't wait to see the pictures :)
Oh, your tiel! Good Luck! I got a budgie instead. :P I couldn't resist my new little guy!

Well, I cleaned out the cage I used for Drakes quarantine, and I'm using that. It's about the same size, but much cleaner than Spike's and has a door he can fit through. I added a few new toys, and a ladder I had. As I suspected, he couldn't fit through the door on his cage, and I had to dissemble it. He was such a good boy, he flew a couple laps around the room then he stepped up very nicely. He enjoyed climbing up and down my arm while I talked to him. :p
Hopefully I'll be able to get the the store within the next couple of days to go shopping for him.
I'll take pics now!

Thats sad. :( But yay cant wait till you get those pictures up!! -kiks digital- The one time I wanna USE it to take pics of rutabaga, who recently decided laying in his food dish like he disapeared and chirping like a maniac is the best way to get more attention..
Anyways im glad somebody who knows a thing or two about birds got Spike.

I'm so surprised at how trusting he is, the previous owners never took him out of his cage at all. He loves being out, and he'll happily sit on my shoulder and hang out with me. :)
Here are the pictures of my cutie!:D

That is particularly sad that the poor bird could not even fit through his door. I am amazed that he is as good as he sounds. It sounds like he was neglected not actually physically abused at least. Here's hoping he has a long and happy life with you and soon forgets what he has been through.

I know, now at least he is in a cage where he can happily go in and out of.:o I'm also amazed at how trusting he is. He hasn't bit once, just little pecks now and then. He's such a good boy.:p
