Any ideas for male/female ? i thought moon, white one maybe male ? mali, female ? youre views would be welcome.
Oh!
I'd say Moon is a female and Mali male, the opposite to you!
I say the blue one female and the white one male they are both young though so I am not sure.
No you're not. The white one is female and the blue one is male. :) If those photos are accurate then i'm 100% sure of this.

OH YES! I always wear heavy leather gloves when handling the adult, wild, ones. They can inflict severe damage with their beaks. Yma, on the other hand, is quite docile. She does, occasionally, nip. When she does that, we simply say "NO" and put her back in her cage. Doesn't happen often, thank goodness.
Gosh! I think I like Yma more than any others!

I've always favored parakeets but, once I started with Quakers, I've begun to wonder..... Hmmm. Quakers are considerably smarter than parakeets, all in all. Not as many color variations, however. The blues are incredible. The Lutinos are not to be believed. But, you are talking major money here.
Yma's personality is fantastic. Her parents are totally, and I mean totally, wild. Yma had two nest mates. The lady who hand fed them kept one. I took the other two. Sold one and kept Yma. She talks but not as clearly as I'd like right now. (My wife talks baby talk to her and she's imitating that.) She is so gentle and affectionate. When my wife comes anywhere near her, Yma goes crazy wanting to be picked up and loved. I play a little rougher with her and she loves it too. She stays out of her cage a lot but, of course, not when the dogs are inside. I even take her outside out of her cage....since her wings are clipped. She gets confused when she realizes there is no ceiling. Of course, I'll not be able to do that when her wings grow back in.
I love my Yma! I would greatly encourage anyone interested in birds to try Quakers. They are small and still relatively inexpensive. So much fun to watch too.
I WANT ONE! They sound like a lot of fun, I might get one, one day!
