I'm so super excited!! I was talking to one of my friends and her friend who I have talked to in the past is giving away his Cockatiel, for free, with cage and everything! He says it's healthy, and 10 years old. I'm going to talk to my parents about it! :D

Congrats, Too bad the Cockatiel is younger... You may only have a few years with him/her But then you could be lucky and get another 10 years.

Either way I hope you parents say yes! Its an awesome deal... but then anything for free is pretty sweet.

Any idea why they are giving away a bird that they had for 10 years? thats a shame... but at least if you get him, he will be going to a good home!

I'm going to have to talk to them about that. They said he's healthy and all. I think it's because the owner is losing interest, he's 14, so he's probably has "better things to do"..yeah right! :p
what could be better than a birdie!?!?

I talked to him today, and he told me why they are giving him away. He said that no one pays that much attention to him, and his mom thinks that he deserves to be with a family that does.

then he does need a new home & its nice that they realize their errors.

any word from your parents yet?

just make sure you quarantine really well, dont just take their word on his health.

Yup, I'll definitely quarantine. :)
I've been the perfect little angel for my mommy the past couple of days, doing EVERYTHING she asks of me. My dad has no problem with it, the birds effect him 0%.
My mom also said she'll give me an answer by 9:00 tonight, the way she said it made it sound like she already had the answer in her mind, and I don't think she would say that if it was a no.
So I'm hoping :)!
