Welcome Ladies and Gents! to the FINALE of Talk Budgies' Next Top Model Season 4! :clap:

I can't believe we are finally here! This competition started in July. We've seen many contestants come and go; there has been many twists, many suprises, many shocks and many amazing entries sent in each week! :D

But it has all come down to this! :eek: The deciding moment!

The moment where one lucky contestant will become Talk Budgie's Next Top Model! :clap:

Currently, there are five remaining contestants. Of course, in a few moments, we will reveal the results of our double elimination, and from there, only three will continue on to the finale!!

Before I do that, I'd like to commend everyone on a solid week! :D

This week went amazingly well. The five photos sent in were all absolutely fantastic! :thumbsup: You don't understand how difficult it was having to choose two people to be eliminated.

Alright, I've done my blabbering :p Here are the results of the double elimination :eek:

The video is currently uploading to YouTube, but because it's the end of the month and I'm not sure how long it will take, I'm just going to announce it now and put the video up when it's ready :)

Each week, your photos have been absoultely amazing! Corina, Kenji has produced absolutely flawless photos every week. And week by week Cupid has just gone from strength to strength! :)

Talk Budgies, your challenge is:

Hollywood Film: We don't want you to send in a photo this week. For this challenge, we want you to create a VIDEO! :D

We want you to create 2-3min video, recreating your favourite movie using your budgies! There are no rules, so you are free to use your imaginations! :D

The only requirements are that video is 2-3 min long and it has to be uploaded on Youtube.

Effects such as background music, subtitles and captions are allowed :)

We used this challenge for our Finale Week on our Linnie Forum top model competition! :D

This was the winning entry from Crystal and Louie. They recreated the Titanic movie. This should give you a great idea of how to go about making your film :)

Contestants have 5 days to send the links to their YouTube videos to Pippin's Mom :)

Once your 5 days is up and the entries are in, the judges will decide on the winner, which will be announced on another thread :) There will also be a few other surprises ;)

NB: Unfortunately, I will not be active from Saturday to Monday as I have to attend a school camp :cool: So I will keep in touch with all of you before and after then :) Hopefully I make it back in time before the winner is announced :)

Movie , hummm ! anyone know what program i can use for this?

I use windows movie maker, and you can do alot with it. Some cameras also let you edit footage right on the camera itself depeding on the model.

If I may make a suggestion; the deadline day will be Sunday. Perhaps the deadline could be extended. It is a holiday weekend for one of the contestants and producers and Phillip will not be able to participate until next week anyway.
A movie is much more difficult to make than taking a photo and I believe that when this challenge was held on the Linnie Forum the contestants were given 10 days to submit an entry. I can imagine that just thinking up the idea and making a script will take time, not to mention the numerous photos that will have to be taken and then to put it all together. If it were me, I would appreciate more time being allotted.

I didn't even know this was up till Peter sent me a message :P
I knew Kenji and I were leaving we just didn't want to leave without a last photo so I used that Diva card. Wish I had more time for that last photoshoot but the job and real life come first!
It was fun and even though Kenji isn't one little bit tame we made it work, Kenji will be happy that the annoying photoshoots are over :D

And guess what! my uncle's camera which is the camera I use doesn't take videos! So that would've been bad and I must say my video skills are very bad :P

And now that we are out I can pick favorites.. so go Phoenix we are rooting for you :P
well Persephone and Tybo were my all time favorites but we are all out :)

I discussed this with Julea before, but she thought that extending the 5 days would be too long. I think that contestants should have 10 days to create their film for the finale.

I'll have a chat to her again :) Hopefully she'll agree that the 5 day period should be extended ;)

Kenji has always been one of my favourites and i was very sad to see him go Unfortunately, someone had to go and looking back at your latest entries, they haven't been up to the top as they used to be in the beginning. This photo was absolutely adorable but i'm so sorry, sometimes we just have to choose contestants out no matter how much we want them to stay.

I think another part of it is that it is not best to use a diva card this late in the competition. When everyone else has a good photo specifically for the challenge, the diva is most likely to go. We just can't vote out a perfectly good talent entry over a diva card. But I know that you didn't have time this week, and your diva cad was very cute. :) it's just that this late in the competition, you can't be sure that there will be a regular entry that deserves to be vote out more than a diva card. i hope that makes sense. :)

You have been a very strong competitor, and it was hard to vote you out. You didn't necessarily do anything wrong - it's just that at this stage, everyone's photos are simply amazing!

LOL Sorry but i didn't want to go along with the other judges voting you out because "It's not good to use the diva card this far in the competition" For me, if you can use the diva card go ahead as long as it isn't in the finale, i won't vote against you. I usually don't look at past weeks unless i can't decide, and trust me we argue erm, i mean we discuss quite different contestants and when it came down to you and another contestant (for my vote) i did go back to see who's photo had been at the top most of the time (great interaction, etc.. in past entries). I know it's not the case with the other judges but once i can't make up my mind, i have to figure out a way to choose or else i'd close my eyes and vote on a random one (don't worry, i haven't done that yet) :o

It is the main thing we look for (quality, interaction, creativity, etc.. ) but this far in the competition none of the entries lacked anything and basically no one would ever be eliminated if we just stuck to the main criterias.. Oh my gosh I am so frustrated right now. So iI go to watch the movie and the tape breaks. the stuff coming out of it. So i fix it, go downstairs to another vcr player and that one has black lines all over it. So I call my friend, barrow her tape. Go to watch it...its the same. Our other DVD player isn't working. It won't play it. Then to top things off. my moms says we don't have the money to buy a new vcr player or even the dvd of that movie...So i don't know if I will be able to do anything. plus with the 5 days, tomorrow i have thanksgiving dinners, friday i have another dinner and saturday i have to go help school raise money. I doubt I will have time to get this done and in. And also, i deffenitly won't get done, if i even get to, doing a video. Are we able to do a slide show like example? I do not have a video thing on my computer to edit and do music and stuff. So this week i might be screwed. Sorry for the long post. Just wanted to explain what was going on with me.

You could make the movie on windows movie maker and upload it to youtube :) Since in the other entries they did use other birds, then i do think that you can have other birds to play the other roles (besides Firecracker who's the main character)

Alright, so I've had a talk with the fellow judges. We all agree that the normal 5 day time period is too short for you all to create a movie.

We've waited long enough for Pippin's Mom's input, but unfortunately she hasn't been on.. So I am just going to go ahead and announce that the time period of 5 days has been extended to 10 days!! :eek:

So from the time I posted the challenge, you have 10 days! :thumbsup: That means you guys still have a few days to go before they are due :)

Just from calculating in my head, I believe that means that your movies are due on thursday, correct me if I'm wrong, because I probably am :rolleyes: :o

I show this thread as being opened on Nov 24th @ 7:46 am. Ten days from that date is Dec. 4th.
Since all of the contestants reside in North America the deadline date is Friday Dec. 4th for all three contestants.

If the movie you choose has the main charater as a female and your budgie is male , would it matter?

Lots of male actors have played female roles. (Some Like it Hot,Mrs. DoubtFire etc) I don't see how it would make a difference. It would just show us how good an actor Chibi-Chibi is:)

Hi Corina!:) Be assured that you were not voted out because of your past photos..there is just no way that could be the case as all of your prior photos have been fantastic! It's simply that there were other photos this last week that were better.

It is true that every contestant is allowed to use their Diva Card in any challenge except for the final, but we also let all contestants know that it can only be used once and to use it wisely. As the competition progresses and fewer contestants are left of course the judges will become more critical..they will expect more from the contestants as the comp get's closer to the finale.

What Emily said is true that it's not the best decision to use one's Diva card late in the competition especially in the semi-final with the title at stake because chances are if the other contestants have met the challenge and submitted good photos they will not be voted out. Had the judges felt your Diva card was better than the other photos submitted you would still be in the competition. So all that to say you also were not voted out because you used your Diva Card.:)

Yes, you may do a slide show if you choose.:) We realize that not everyone has access to a video camera and that not everyone has a video option on their camera. You don't lose points or anything..we count it as a video.:)

No, gender doesn't matter as far as their role in the movie.:) As Louara mentioned this happens all the time in movies.

Now that questions are out of the way I want to say how sad I am to see Corina and Kenji and Becca and Cupid go! :( You were all great contestants and it was such a joy having you in the competition and seeing your lovely photos each week!:D

Corina and Kenji you guys produced stellar photos each week..we enjoyed them so much! You were very strong contenders.:)

Becca and Cupid~ I was so impressed with your growth each week..you guys just continued to improve..be proud of your accomplishments! Look at how far you came..the semi-finals!! I also appreciate your positive attitude now!:D We will miss you all!

When Phillip and I discussed the extension before it was brought up mainly because he would be gone and wouldn't be here for the finale if there wasn't an extension..with that in mind I had forgotten for a minute that it was also because you would all be doing a video rather than a photo. When the extension was requested because Phillip would be gone..at that time and for that reason alone... I thought it would be too long because the comp is already very long (4 mos. now) and it really is time to wrap it up. But, of course I don't mind at all an extension for the contestants! This is the toughest challenge, the title is on the line, and you all deserve it!:)

It depends on your computer i guess and how long the video is. Mine usually load within 20 min or so

Did Firecracker do all his own stunt work? I have never seen a budgie actually swim before! The plane crash scene was amazing, and your props were perfect, just like in the real movie. Fantastic!

Kim,
Phoenix looked so cute going down the yellow brick road! I loved your props too, and such a cast of characters, especially those little munchkins. Great action shots and your use of sound effects with the music was top notch.

Well i was using water to clean his props and he slid in and i thought that would look good right after those pictures. It was very shallow.

All of you portrayed your selected movies amazingly! :D I thank you three for the absolutely impeccable work you've all put into your movies! You could see that a lot of time was spent making them, and it shows :) They are all perfect.

As far as deciding on Talk Budgie's Next Top Model, this is going to be extremely tough :eek: We haven't received Emily or Julea's opinions yet, and still there is much debate on who should win. This is going to be verrrrryyyyyy tough! :eek:

That was a lot of work to put together the two part winner's video. Congratulations on your dedication to the task - working to 2:30 a.m. is above and beyond the call of duty. I can see why the final decision was so difficult to make - a lot of effort obviously went into the submissions by the contestants.
