New forum game: Lateral Thinking Quiz
What you must do is solve the problem in a riddle, and the person who solves it correctly posts a new riddle.
This game was inspired from another forum I'm on.
Ready? GO!
A man lives in the penthouse of an apartment building. Every morning he takes the elevator down to the lobby and leaves the building. Upon his return, however, he can only travel halfway up in the elevator and has to walk up the stairs the rest of the way - unless it's raining. How is he able to get back to his penthouse?

Oh, I think I know. The guy is short, so he can reach the bottom buttons to go down, but he can't reach the high buttons to get to the penthouse on the top floor, so he pushes as high as he can, and uses the stairs the rest of the way. When it's raining, he uses the umbrella to push the top buttons. Is that right?
I'll love this game, I love riddles!

Good thinking, but if that was the case, wouldn't he just bring something with him that allows him to push the top buttons? Or would he even have moved into a penthouse in the first place?

I always had a hard time with physics cause I couldn't grasp the concept of ignoring real life factors. I used to get so mad with my teachers because they wouldn't tell me how to allow for things like the coriolus force, etc.

There's no need to get frustrated, pal0min0. At least you were thinking. Bringing a stool would have been a good idea. :D
Does anyone have a riddle?

I wasn't feeling frustrated, :) But I just remembered that somewhere I have a book of this kind of puzzle, mind trying to figure out if I really do or where it is located is a puzzle in itself. :)
Of course you can find a lot of them by googling lateral thinking puzzles. There is also a forum for them.

I've got one. I heard this a while ago, but worded slightly differently.
A man lived in a house for two months. Nobody came to visit him and he never went out. At the end of that time, he became deranged. One night he put out the fire, turned off all the lights, and he walked out of the house. he was never seen or heard again. His actions resulted in 90 deaths. Why?

He had 90 animals in his care?

Nope. That could work though.

Hmm, doubt this is it, kind of gruesome, but did he live in a lighthouse? Like when he put out the light, a ship couldn't see and crashed and 90 people on there died? Sorry, but that's the first thing I thought of. :o

That would work as well.

I'm just guessing, but if it's correct, then someone else can post a riddle since I already posted one.
I'm guessing he had 90 plants and they died because they didn't get enough light after he left because he turned off all the lights.

Did he have a birdfeeder in his yard?
He wasn't home to fill it so ninety birds died?
