I taught my Cockatiel to whistle the Andy Griffith song with a tape that i found at my local pet store, and now I wanna teach my new parakeet to whistle the mario theme song.
I named him Yoshi because hes green, (and in mario cart i always race as yoshi lol) and i was wondering if anyone had the mario theme song in a whistle version so i could play it for him.

I absolutely LOVE MarioKart and Yoshi is an awesome name for a green budgie! Why didn't I think of that? Especially since Yoshi is my favourite character (but my dad always picks him, so I usually pick Baby Mario and the Pirhanna). I realize this is off-topic, but which MarioKart do you play? The one for the Gamecube? I love that you can race with two characters and change your vehicle. :D
Good luck with teaching your budgie the Mario theme song. I'd LOVE to hear that if you ever get Yoshi to do it! :D

What a talented Budgie you have, that he is able to whistle the complete Andy Griffith theme song.
That's awesome.
I wonder why people say to only try and teach your Budgie one or two words at a time, and then add a couple more words, once the first ones were learned?
If a Budgie can learn a complete theme song, then it makes me realize that you can't limit the learning abilities of a Budgie.
Oh, and by the way, I see that you are NEW to the forum. Welcome! And thanks for sharing.
That was a neat story.

actually i taught my cockatiel the andy griffith song... I was surprised at how quickly he picked it up. My girlfriend has been trying to teach the budgie (Yoshi) to say his name, but i've heard that if you teach a bird to whistle then they wont talk, and vise versa... Is this true? I think it would be awesome if he could whistle at least part of mario and say his name as well.
edit: Thanks for the welcome!

Ooops, I guess I didn't read your post close enough. I somehow thought it was your Budgie
that whistled. Sorry!
I don't know much about Cockatiels, but from what I can gather, I am assuming that they
are more quick to whistle and/or talk. As far as knowing if they will talk, once the can whistle,
I really couldn't tell you.
I see that you just posted a photo of Yoshi and Vincent. They are one great looking pair.
