Welcome Ladies and Gents! to Week 6 of Talk Budgies' Next Top Model Season 4! :clap:

What an amazing week this was! :D So much going on in the world of Top Model, it's unbelievable! :eek: I'd like to start by congratulating all our contestants for their snap-tastic shots! :p You all really took us to different places around the world, and EVERYONE'S photos were fantastic! :D If Paris Hilton was here, she'd say "that's hot" :p

Also a big thankyou to everyone who voted for the top 3 casting call participants who were battling it out for a spot in the competition! :)

Now before I continue, I have to say that I am terribly sorry that a few previous weeks haven't been posted yet :o A few photos were deleted form photobucket and I am still chasing members up for their shots :rolleyes: I'll get those videos up ASAP :)

But, without futher adieu, here is a re-cap of week 5! ;) This short 2 minute video will show you all the amazing photos sent in last week, it'll announce who was eliminated, and we'll reveal the name of the member YOU voted for to become a contestant! :thumbsup:

Before we move on, I think you guys might like a quick refresher of the rules :cheers:

RULES:
Contestants will have 5 days after the challenge is posted to PM either me (Budgietom) or Julea (Pippin's Mom) a picture of their budgie posing for the challenge (there will be a new challenge each week). Photoshopped or photos altered in any way are not allowed in the competition and will be disqualified... though props are encouraged :D

Judges will then have the remaining 2 days to deliberate and decide which contestant will be eliminated for the week. The budgie with the most nominations will be eliminated from the competition, but encouraged to still post pictures through the remainder of the competition for fun :) Contestants who don't PM their photos by the end of the time constraints(5 days) will automatically forfeit their spot in the competition.

A new thread will be posted for each week of the competition. We will post the contestants pictures on the thread as soon as we receive them. We'll announce who is eliminated as well as the new challenge at the start of each week I will also post the rules to refresh your memory at the start of each weeks thread

The DIVA card: So basically, if your Budgie is not co-operating with you for the challenge and you don't know what to do, you can use your DIVA card. The DIVA card is "Budgie's Need Pampering" so you would need to take a photo of your Budgie being pampered like a true DIVA and PM that to me in place of the challenge of the week :D

Rules for the DIVA card:
It can only be used ONCE during the entire competition so use it only when you really have to!

The DIVA card can be used for any round except the final.

Extreme Sports: We're doing it fear factor style this week! :scare: Catch a shot of your Budgies preforming their favorite EXTREME SPORT! Is your Budgie into Rock climbing? Skateboarding? Sky Diving? Bungee jumping? Car racing? Whatever it is we look forward to seeing them in action!:)

Contestants have 5 days to send their entries to Pippin's Mom :)

Head to the Judge's Critique's page to see what the judges had to say about your photos this week! :D They'll tell you what they liked, what they loved, and a little something to work on ;) Judges, you may post your comments now ;)

also thanks so much to the 4 members who voted for sodapop on the poll (budgie 1). i tried to give karma to the people who said nice things about the pic but on my ipod karma usully doesnt work although it did work once today.

Thanks so much to all of you who voted for Loki!! She was so excited when I told her that we won. I am sad that Budgie #1 and #3 won't be competing because they really had better interaction than we did. Budgie #1 was so cute and daring way up in that tree and not at all afraid to share a snack with the koala! And contestant #3? Wow! What a cool customer! Loki and I were amazed at how she was actually holding the sword AND holding her own with all those warriors. :bowdown:

We are ready for the X-treme Challenge however and I hope to show that Loki really deserves this chance. We are fairly new to TB but everyone here has been so welcoming and helpful. :happy4:

I'm not great with definitions but an extreme sport is something extreme.. like skateboarding, sky diving, dirt biking, climbing and things like that.

Louara and Peter - Extreme sports would be the things that people do for the adrenaline rush, (like Surfing, sky diving, and rock climbing) as opposed to normal competitive sports like baseball and football. :)

It was an honor to be chosen. Rosie did her best but I guess she's just a little tomboy at heart. The challenges were a little awkward for her at times but she hung in there.

Today she's happily playing with her best friend Nicky and acting like she hasn't got a care in the world. And that means the world to me.

So good luck to all the contestants. It looks like it's going to be a tough one. Rosie and I will be watching every step of the way.
I can't wait to see the entries.

Your photo was fantastic.:) It was simple, but beautiful. We could tell right where Soda Pop was and there was good interaction. Of course you may still participate and post your challenge photos in the MOTP thread!

Yes, the whole voting process did get a bit complicated when members some how voted for a different Budgie than they intended. I did find out that once a vote is sent..what's done is done..they can't be changed.

Also in future events we will not be going through the mentally adding and subtracting of votes. The polls are pretty easy..there was only three choices. So in the future be very careful of your vote as you will only get one vote and once it is placed it will stand.:)

Other members have given some great examples and definitions, but I also edited Phillip's post to add some examples of what would be considered an extreme sport.

Well, I have to say that this is the most difficult challenge of the competition so far! Remember to take your time...try not to rush and PLEASE have fun with this! We are starting to count down now with only three more challenges after this one so it's time to really step it up and wow the judges! Keep in mind the pointers that the judges have given you in their critiques and yes, I have to say it again...interaction!:P We especially need to see good interaction in this challenge as it's all about action!

Opps...I forgot to leave my producers tips...;)

As you all know there is a theme to each challenge and it is VERY important that the theme is met..it is at the top of importance along with interaction. The theme for week 5 was "World Traveler" Contestants were to choose a country that their Budgie dreams of visiting and get a photo of them in that country. I will share that the contestants who were voted out of week 5 were voted out mainly because the judges couldn't tell by their photo where they were.

The theme park idea was a great one , but we couldn't tell what country the theme park was in. The other was a Budgie in a tree with some geese in the background...maybe Canada? Some other symbolic items of Canada would have been helpful...Maple leaf, flag, etc.. The geese alone didn't shout Canada.

Also There is a photo of a Budgie under the sea, but there is NOTHING in the photo that tells us where this Budgie is in terms of what country. This was frustrating because the judges now had three contestants who didn't meet the challenge , but they are only allowed two elimination votes. Why should they vote out one over another? So they finally had to judge by photo quality..lighting, clarity..etc..to make a final decision. But under the sea Budgie came very close to being eliminated for not meeting the theme as well.

So just a heads up to keep in mind that the theme of the challenge does matter.:)

Yes Sue, they are! Same mother and father, different clutch. I have 6 of Peter's chicks and they are all just amazing. Peter and I have been friends since high school and we are very competitive with each other - so I couldn't resist teasing him and Persephone (who I adore). I'll try to keep it clean. :giggle:

I think Persephone is up for the challenge. Although she doesn't have the practice competing with a sister like Loki does with Pandora, the youngest sister. That may just give Loki the upper hand. Persephone is the little princess of the flock at my house and pretty much gets whatever she wants from the others without having to fight for it.

Thanks Louara! I watched the Summer X-Games for years. BMX was my favorite sport to see so it was a natural choice for us. Not that standing on handlebars is natural for a budgie. :giggle:

Sorry everyone , but there may be a slight delay getting the new challenge thread up. Phillip has no power..it went out right when he was in the middle of the video.:( I have family in from out of town so have an even busier schedule than usual the next few days.
