I had a friend over for lunch today and we were eating smoked fish sandwiches. So Birdie decided to check it out.He flew out of his cage onto my dish and started to enjoy my smoked fish!I;m not sure if he could have it so I put him back into the cage. Can budgies have smoked fish???He sure looked like he would have ate a whole bunch. If he can my friend and I saved some just in case you wonderful people here will say it's OK!!!:)

I would say no due to the large amount of salt in smoked fish. Does anyone agree with me.

I kind of agree Clifff123. I never heard of them being able to eat fish, but I have heard they could eat cooked turkey.

Well if there is a lot of sault contents in it then probably no as the others have said. But if he only took a nibble then it shouldn't harm him I suppose.

Budgies do need a protein source, but people tend to use beans and peas instead of meats, although budgies can eat a small amount of lean meats.

Basically, you don't want to give anything smothered in butter and oil. Boiled meat is fine to give in very small quantities once in a while.

I don't give my budgies any "human foods" except veggies, fruits and legumes.
