I assume so. My friends, grans african grey parrot eats walnuts :)

Walnuts are certainly an ok treat to give to your budgie. They are high in polyunsaturated fats (omega-3 fatty acids) which can be of benefit to them. However, just keep in mind that generally speaking, nuts are pretty high in fat so you will want to offer them in moderation.

Thanks Budgiekin. You just summed it all up for me. I gave them walnuts yesterday and they really liked them, but I didn't know if it was ok for them to have them.

We have been selling walnuts to bird lovers for 25 years at www"dot"Walnuts"dot"US and they report back enthusiastic acceptance by their pets and no side-effects to date except one case where they shelled for their bird and then the bird would no longer crack his own walnuts after that. Jim Haag
