Hi all-
I have 2 budgies (female and male - i think) who are pretty well-bonded. I'm hoping to get them some friends, but I'm not sure whether I should start with a single bird (I've heard this could cause fights) or a pair......help?
Thanks!!!
It would depend on whether or not you want to tame the new birds. If you do then get one more baby budgie and keep it separate from your current birds for a month, use the quarantine time to tame it. Then introduce it to your current two. If you still want another later on do the same. If you don't care about them being tame then you could get a pair but they'd still need to be quarantined for a month.

I think it's alot funner and more of a learning thing if you get more than 1.

You can watch how they interact.

Well, I ended up with 2, and so far they're doing great.
Good! I hope they never fight, ect!

Okay y'all....(I'm from Texas :)
Sorry to have been slow on the updates. The new budgies are doing wonderfully - I have named them Louis and Ella - I'm 90% sure they're male and female, but don't have any pictures to share yet. They LOVE eachother, and spend most of the day talking to my other pair (who are in the ginormous cage across the room - I think they're jealous)........So, all's well so far. Thanks again for the suggestions!
