Hey everyone!!!

Well let me start off by saying hello and my name is Melissa Gray. I live in Centeral Florida and am the proud owner of 8 lovely budgies. I work in the tattoo and piercing industry with hopes of opening my owm shop someday. I am a full time college student studying in the field of marketing. I love birds and love learning more and more about them! Meet me and my flock:

This is Ceaser my oldest little girl. I have had her for about three and a half years. Sadly we just lost her favorite playmate Petrie who we had for five years. (she is the bird in my avatar)

Next came Jake in the beginning of January. He is still hand shy but we are still working with him.

Then came Elwood, he just won my heart when I saw him. He and Jake were instant buddies and so we named them after the Blues Brothers.

Houdini came in the beginning of February and just by watching him I new he had to come home with me. He is by far my tamest bird and is as I type this sitting on my shoulder preening my hair.

Kiwi made it into the house as a way to even out the flock. He is a little goof ball that none of us could live without.

Dazie, pronounced Daisy, joined the family on March 8th, the day that my Petrie passed away. Lets just describe her as a little diva. She definately has that spunk in her.

Skyler came next after the death of little Blossom, she was only in the house for 5 days. My mom went out that morning and bought him as a surprise to chee me up.

Finally there is Skeeter who has only just joined the family yesterday, 04-13-2006.
She/he, we are still unsure will be a great addition!!

Finally this is me the crazy 'kid' with all the birds. I am looking forward to meeting all of you and talking about our great birds!!!

Hi Melissa and welcome to the forum! We hope you enjoy it here as it is a great place to share stories, get information and "bond" with fellow budgie owners! You've got quite the flock. They are all very beautiful. I too have a budgie named Kiwi, and of course he is green like yours! I am so sorry to hear about the loss of Petrie. I know what it is like to lose a budgie; they all have a special place in our hearts.

If I recall correctly, you are also on the Just Budgies Forum as well?

Yes, Budgekin I am a member on just budgies and numerous other forums too. I love talking to other budgie lovers so I think that I am really going to enjoy it here.

I thought so! I remembered seeing your budgies in that other forum. I think you really will enjoy it here. We've got lots of people with so much to offer in terms of support and knowledge. I encourage you to post as much as you'd like and to also not hesitate to start new threads as you have done already! :D
