Hi guys,
My female (Tito) has a bald spot on her neck...it doesnt directly show when u look @ her...just when she looks down, she's been like that for a month.
Today I caught her & took a look @ it. IT seems that new hair are growing but it's still at the begining it's hardly showing.
As for her health in general she's very healthy she jumps everywhere loves to play. It's just this small bald spot is worrying me.
She was moulting a month ago so i figured it's not a big deal.
Anyone here knows what it may be from??
anyway, hope it's nothing to worry about...
I would really appreciate your help
Thanks
Regards

Is she plucking? If she is then she's bored and needs more activities. I saw a sick budgie in Petco that had a bad spot on it's back. It would sleep with it's beak in that spot and when someone woke it, it would take it's beak out of that spot and you can see it very clearly.
I don't know if canaries do this but

She's cheeky and crazy enough to pluck them out :S
I'll have to keep a close eye on her....

Thanks redgirl for ur help the site was helpful i found this:
"Available nutrients can make a huge difference in overall health, and especially in the speed at which the moult is completed, because if the necessary nutrients are not available, the moult will not be able to be completed until they are.
For this reason, all birds on seed-based diets need regular vitamin/mineral supplementation. Moulting takes a lot of nutrients, and if they aren’t available in the bloodstream, they will come out of the bird’s bodily stores – or wait until enough trickles in through the food, if necessary."
She's probably moulting. I'm a bit relieved:o and ill also keep an eye on her if she's pluckin her feathers too.
The other canary molted earlier than her. I'll make sure she gets more nutrients
Thanks for ur help.;)
