My budgie bites hard lol!

Today is the 3rd day i've had my new budgie. I'm trying to get him on my finger, so i took out all the perches except one and i placed it really low inside the cage. He started climbing the cage (inside) with his feet then like jumping to the other side, and climbing back up. So i decided to put my finger to see if he will jump on it . Sure enough he started jumping on it jumping on the cage walls jumping back on my finger. Then it went on the low perch, i put my finger in front of it and it jumped on it then jumped out of the cage. :/

It started trying to fly everywhere lol. I kept trying to grab him. Then i got a hold of him and he was biting me so hard lol. He never bit me when i use to put my hand near him in the cage. But he was biting so hard lol!

I'm happy that he went on my finger though, hopefull now i can get him on just by putting it in front of him and saying 'UP".

It is quite usual for a budgie to bite hard when being grabbed, he is just protecting himself.

I'm glad to here that he is getting used to you and getting on your finger! Good luck for in the future!

It takes awhile to train a budgie to go "up" and "down" on your finger.Just takke your time ....You will have the hang of it and so will your budgie.

its been over a week now, she perches on my cage all the time when outside the cage now, she also doesnt bite. it was only when i try to grab her with my hand to put her back in her cage, she got scared. but she never did bit other than that. she's fine now.

yeha, the stuff at the store is REALLY expensive for what it actually is. I made something with beads, but she doesnt really play with it lol.
