Today my Dad and I made a playgym. Here is a pic of it: (I will put some more in soon, hopefully with Billy and Lily on it!)

that one you made is nice, I wish Kiki would be more interested in hers but she has played with the bell once lol
Woa! We might make them for £7 then sell them for around £15+
How much was yours?
Anyway, the profit will buy me an aviary! (I'm saving up.)

Wow that's a lovely playgym Amy! Can you make me one?
Yes I will, <--- Te He!
It looks great!!! :D A couple of things though: the really long scruffy bits of rope should be trimmed back to about 1.5-2 inches otherwise a budgie can get tangled up in it which would be really bad! Also, are the swings tied on with string? I had homemade swings like that in my aviary and one of my budgies managed to get her foot all tangled in the string and could've damaged her foot really bad if i hadn't found it. Just thought i'd point those two things out, rather be safe than sorry. :) Otherwise it's fantastic! Good job! :D

1.) I know, I haven't cut it, it isn't really finished yet!
2.) The swings are not going to be used, they are just there for when I took the pic for you to get an idea of how it looks.
Thank you for being cautious!
Here are some pics of the 'new and improved playgym!'

wow u are very clever
They were originally in their cage but I re-arranged the cage and they lost interest in them. So I thought, why don't I put them on the playgym? So I did!
What kind of rope have you used? :)
I don't really know, but we got it from a pet shop and the lady assured us that it was budgie safe.
Oh ok, i was just asking cause it looks glossy, i don't know what's used to make rope look glossy....but maybe it's just the pics.
PS: I just thought i'd add for anyone reading this and thinking of making their own gym that natural sisal rope and natural cotton rope are 2 bird safe ropes commonly used in making bird toys. :)
I nearly got that natural rope but this one was cheeper!
Cheaper's not always better, you want safer.....sorry, i just don't trust pet shops. I've got alot of seriously bad advice from pet shops and you don't have to really know much about birds to be a pet shop employee.:o
I may go and get another rope and change it, I'll see what my Dad says.
Just point out that whatever's making the rope you have glossy could be dangerous. In the long run it would be cheaper to buy the more expensive rope and have healthy birds than to keep the cheap stuff and pay for vet bills.
BTW, natural sisal rope is pretty easy to find at hardware stores and is INCREDIBLY cheap. :) Like only maybe 2 or 3 pounds for a decent amount...
Ok, I may go and change it then.

I am making one wish me luck!
Good luck! I can't wait to see some pictures of it. :)
I got some sisal and some tiny, not zinc, chain. I haven't really put it on properly yet, but I will post some pics when my camera starts working and when I've finished it!
What's the chain made from?
Chrome plated I think, no I don't think so, erm, I'll have to ask my Dad later on today. (He's at work.)

Nice playgym Amy! Homer used to have one, but I left it outside and it rotted.
Oh dear, perhaps I could make you one?

:) nice Amy,have you made a few adjustments as Bea said ?? hope one day mine will be tame & be able to come out & enjoy a play gym !!
Yes I have, and the chain is chrome plated.
I'm not sure about chrome for budgies. The two safe metals i know of are stainless steel and nickel-plated...
