:( I came home from school to find that Razzo, my beautiful gal, had died. She was the most beautiful budgie and the BEST mummy. She's always had a special place in my heart and i'm feeling really down about this. She was about 6 years old which is the longest i've ever had a budgie live. I told Blinkie his mummy died, she was ssuch a special budgie. :(

Sorry to hear of your loss. I still feel a great loss if I lose one even if I have scores of budgies. Each one is special to me. She certainly was beautiful. She will always be with you, in both your thoughts and through Blinkie.

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your precious Razzo. I know how it feels to lose a budgie; they have such an impact on our lives and it is never easy when we have to say goodbye. I am sending hugs your way Bea. :p

I have 10 of her babies. <3 She was my best breeder (though obviously retired for a while now).

What age do they retire at?

I bet it was a real loss when she went, well she lived a happy life with you...

You shouldn't breed hens after 3-4yrs old and not before 1. I didn't stop her until she was 5 though, my fault....i wasn't all that educated. However, if she hadn't been bred one last time a year ago i wouldn't have been blessed with Blinkie. <3
