Hello everybody,,
Mickey<-(female) and The Fuzz<-(male) have mated and the oldest one has hatched on July 8th and is now 41 days old and has 5 other siblings that are younger..
Today i stuck my hand in like always to take the young ones out and Play with them and she flew at my hand and took a chunk out of it and has been attacking the two oldest babies, and also attacking The Fuzz.
THis has only just started happening today..
I dont Know What to do so any advice would be good
Thanks,
Danny

Well I have my first clutch of 4 babies and am not really sure but at that age can't you seperate him now? As long as it is eating on it's own I would try it and keep a close eye on it to make sure it eating and drinking.

Ya please do. Like I said this is my first clutch and I am really not sure. Good luck. What age is it that you can seperate them? I think it is 6 weeks. I would like to know what others say though.

are they eating on their owns? did they leave the nestbox completely? If so, then there would be no problem separating them from their parents and their younger siblings if she is becoming a dangerous threat!
Keep us posted!

K, So ,
I separated the two oldest ones ,, Ive seen them eat once before but im not sure, they stay out of the nest box all of the time and when i put them back into it they come right out again .. So they are probably Weaned ?
Tomorrow ( since Tonight is over) i will watch them alot to see if they are eating alone !

Well,
the youngest chick that is still getting its pin feathers was on the bottom of the cage, Like someone was pushing them out, and another one that has never came out on his own was out.. and they were attacking him ..

Put which ones back :O ??
Right now i have the two youngest ones in the box because they cannot eat on their own
I have seen the oldest four eating on their own so i have them in a seperate cage togetherr,, is that good ?
Also ,, She is going to lay again :O ,, THat was fast .. lol .. I dont know if she is even ready for that again yet, like she laid eggs in the middle of december but none were fertile, and now she has this batch, so do you think she is ready again ??
