I am very excited, one of the babies hatched tonight. I can hear the little peeps. I was a little surprised I thought it be 18 days from the time the second egg was laid. It was 18 days from the first. It so little. From looking at pictures you would think it was a little bigger. lol. When is a good time to start handling them, Momma isn't to friendly and doesn't seem to like you near the cage.

Four eggs left, I'll keep you posted and put up some pics.

Usually around 2 weeks is when you can start to hold them. But not too much. :o

Congrats on the little hatchling tho! That is so great. Best wishes for the other four! :) Keep us updated and post some pics! :D

Congrats on the first egg hatch.
Its the greatest feeling in the world to have one hatch.

Congrats. I wouldn't handle them before the age of seven days at least unless it is necessary to clean them.

Thanks and People say not to hold them until the are 7 days old but i would hold mine...... and Yes i was the same way my moma bird is not friendly either so i was so scared she would reject them if i looked or holded them but she continued to take care of them, do her job. So it should be ok if you hold them but be sure not so much, or at all when they are that small and wash your hands when you do.

Well so far it just the one baby, but it is doing well. I 'll take a pic soon. Hope the others hatch.
